👋 thanks so much. What nippers do you use and what is the white surface you are working on? Thanks
@SueSmithGlassMosaics2 ай бұрын
I use most of the different nippers that are on the market, but when I'm shaping the glass, I prefer the original heavy generic ones, I find the weight of them helps me shape the glass, I don't buy a particular brand or expensive ones. The white surface on the table is the underlay for laminate flooring Comes on a roll about 10 m long. If you're in the UK you can buy it in all the DIY stores but also places like B & M which is obviously cheaper than the big stores.

So beautiful Sue. Your fast nipping technique to give a curly look is so cool. I have to try this chomping technique.

I’m going to ask a friend to help me film a close up of this technique so it’s clear how I use the nippers. The blades need to be sharp and just catching the edge. Hold the handles low down and let the spring open the blades. 🙂

Denise Lin it’s great that you were able to use the cutting guides for your stepping stones, it’s such fun creating things and a joy to see them when finished. Keep having fun! 😃

If you used all the same depth glass, could it be used as a table top?
@SueSmithGlassMosaics3 жыл бұрын
Yes. Most stained glass is 3mm thick, might be slightly different but not noticeable. You just need to avoid the additions- nuggets, gems, ladybirds etc.

Can you please help me my wheelcutters became blunt can I have them shapen or do I have to buy a new one and if so were from places please
@SueSmithGlassMosaics4 жыл бұрын
Hello Caroline, You can undo the central nut holding each wheel and turn it to an unused area of the blade.( I mark mine with a pen so I know which part has already been used.) Once you have used them all the way around you can buy replacement blades, you do not have to buy the nippers again. Do make sure you get the right make as the size of the hole can vary. You can buy replacement blades through Mosaic supply complies. Where are you?
