Sorry for late reply. Yes you can but better you use a different type of glue, the silicone looks ugly from the back. Of course you cannot see this if worked on mirror.

@@barbaraweber-chess5788 look for a crystal clear, waterproof glue suitable for glass. Depending on which country you are in you may not be able to find the brands I use.

In England we call it Masking Tape, it is the tape that house painters use to mask off an area.
