I've been polishing stainless for years with stickit sand paper discs and WD-40. Working my way up to 600 grit and then buff.

Love the quick-step set up. This system doesn’t work for me. I can’t get the “fine” scratches out without using an orbital sander at 600 grit first. Then I have to sand up to 1500 and remove those scratches with the polishing pad and white compound, followed by the blue. Any tips to expedite this process?

Surface finish is defined by the finishing grind.. E.G P120, P240 or 1200 and so on. The higher number, the better finish. Study manufacture catalogues describing which items and tools they suggest.

Hi Alexandre! We suggest you use our Quick Step backing pads (www.walter.com/en_US/products/abrasives/finishing/quick-step-backing-pads) with a larger- diameter Quick Step felt disc (4" backing pad with a 6" disc) or you can also use our Instant Polish Paste: www.walter.com/en_US/products/abrasives/your-accessories/instant-polish-paste
