No Audio from PS5 to OBS (FIXED)

After scouring the interwebs for a solution to this common OBS problem, I found a simple solution that work's for me, so I'm sharing this knowledge with you!

Hello bro, great video that fix a lot of questions but I still have one, if I have wireless headset that connects with USB type C dongle to the PS5, can I just plug this dongle to my Laptop so I can hear the PS5 audio through the OBS and also record my voice through the headset and record the game audio in the same time through the HDMI from the Elgato ( or any other capture card ) ? P.S I am not playing games that needs party chat, mostly playing solo campaing games, so i just need to record my voice to the stream or videos. Will be truly appreciate if you can answer if this will work that way.

Hi, just watched the video. Trying to make sure I'm tracking.. plus I play destiny too, which has been my reason for getting a capture card because you can't hear the other party in the chat when I stream. I need help. I use a Steel Series wireless headset. I can't hear the audio from the headset even if I choose that as a monitor. If I plug in the headset to the capture card. I hear the audio very low. How can I get OBS to feed to my headset. Advance settings was set to my headset for a monitor and that did not work.

have you had any issues with the gameplay audio from the ps5 cutting in and out while you stream? it works fine for about 10 seconds then cuts out for 2 or 3 seconds.

Don't know if you'll see this. Im getting audio from my capture card, only its not the full audio. Everything sounds warbled. Higher frequency sounds come through but bassier sounds don't at all. Any tips? Ive literally tried everything here.

That kind of issue sounds like a bad connection. Plug your headset up to the console, if it sounds normal, then I’d imagine it’s a capable or equipment malfunction.

Can I kind of do the reverse for a mic situation? So I'd use two mics so my friends and my stream chat can hear me? I'd use my headset for my party chat (my friends) but I'd have an external mic (hyperX solocast) plugged into my computer and hooked up to OBS so my stream chat can hear what I'm saying. So my voice is being captured by two different mics with one sending my voice to my PC and the other to my PS5. For my game and party chat audio I'd just use the output of the HDMI like you suggested so I can hear it in my headphones and my stream can hear it as well. Would that work?

You can. This is exactly what I do. I have my audio all running from my PS5 to my PC, but, as an Input on my PS5 I have a separate mic for my party chat. Now, if you have you audio sharing setup properly on your PS5, you can hear your party/game chat audio via the headset hooked up to your PC and communicate via the two separate mics.

It's not the same for Xbox it's the opposite lol So what was your quad cast hooked up to? Your pc or straight to ps5? And does your lic have to be hooked up to your pc to hear your gane audio only or can it be hooked into the controller?

Is anyone else getting the delay in audio? I mean I move around the PS5 home screen, but there is a delay in audio from OBS. Can't play PS5 games with my PS5 headset for realtime audio AND capture PS5 audio through OBS with your method. If I change it to your way, I can no longer use my PS5 headset, the audio comes through my PC via OBS, but there is a delay between movement on screen and audio. Seriously NOT a solution. Check your audio device on the elgato it should be on custom audio device and the device is the elgato, not wavedirect or direct sound

Xbox is not the same it let's you run 2 audio sources at once I will say I'm gonna try this I bought the chat link pro and I can't get it to work with my nova pro wireless but just so you know xbox is as easy as plug and stream

No xbox has this issue bc they dont have built in mics . its HDMI playstation is analog audio only thing i dont like about playstation

Xbox isn't the same. Microsoft was smart enough to allow game audio be output to both the HDMI and AUX at the same time... I have a PS5 now and am so disappointed in the lack of that feature. I don't understand why the PS5 doesn't have it.
