FWIW, Fastbond doesn't deal you damage when you play an extra land with it, just whenever you play more than your first land. So even if you have exploration, the land drop for exploration still would deal you damage.

I think of the cards on the Banlist Sylvan Primordial is one of the most deserving. Lots of the banned cards would be regulated by rule 0 most of the time like the power 9, Leovold, Time Vault, etc. But Sylvan Primordial would be in every single green deck forever being absolutely disgusting.

@@AMageOldAsDirt Sylvan, Golos and Prime Time will only get more powerful as we get more Utility lands and Lands with Basic Land Types. Like right now if you are in 3 Colors you can Get 2 Surveil lands and some minor Lifegain or an extra 1/1.

I came back to edh after prime time banning and my new play group showed me sylvan. I immediately said this is worse. So I made a reanimator deck and cast this on turn 2 everyone agreed. Blowing up 3 lands on turn 2 and grabbing 3 mana for myself.

It was more about everyone being tapped out, he played around counterspells. I think it's fine as a play, emrakul is very hard to answer so it's not that likely someone will have an answer and even less a way to steal it

​@@Suppaichuoh man, idk. I feel like putting an emrakul into play sorcery speed with a blind obedience in play and a full board of creatures in play for your opponents is just asking for it. Personally I'm risking the Richard's EoT smugglers and if it gets countered I just untap and take my turn, likely not on anyone's radar that turn cycle. He died because 3 players were united in their hate against annihilator 6.

Fastbond's damage trigger happens any time a land is played and isn't the first. Even though Phil has multiple additional land effects, fastbond sees all extra land drops, and should have taken more damage. That's what makes fastbond "fair" hahaha

Sylvan primordial def does not need to be banned. There are tons of spells that ramp way more than 3 mana for less than 7 mana. Harvest season and traverse the Outlands comes to mind.

There was a slight misplay in game 1, didn't affect the outcome, however Crim's graveyard should have disappeared with the resolution of Farewell. Tef protect won't protect your graveyard or your library or your hand for that matter.

I will confirm, as someone who was playing commander when it was legal, Prophet of Kruphix def deserves to still be banned.

31:26 but that's the point. Biorhythm isn't banned because it's strong, it's banned because it punishes deckbuilding choices that the RC doesn't want to punish. Triumph of the Horde is defeated by lots of pillow fort cards, you have to have at least 1 creature in play if you want to beat biorhythm. Nothing is on the banlist just because it's good (maybe power, but that's a price/optics thing, not a power level thing, I think that power could be unbanned if edh was a full proxy or digital only format), everything is on the banlist because there is some issue with the card itself and playing it, or playing against it.

Commander would be terrible with Sylvan Primordial and Sundering Titan. So many lands died. Recurring Nightmare needs never to come back either. The strongest play came from that card. Honestly, watching this, Seedborn Muse might be something to ban too. It's an evil control card for green that I think would be better not to exist. This episode made me appreciate again why some of these card were gone and should be gone. It actually made me appreciate the ban list. Good games guys.

In the first game, Emrakul was put straight onto the battlefield from Seth's hand using Smuggler's share. Emrakul's extra turn happens when you cast her, and putting a permanent onto the battlefield isn't casting it, so Seth "merely" did it for the 15/15 flying Annihilator 6 with protection from colored spells
