So you're baking up some sourdough bread but you have no bannetons to hold your dough because they are sold out everywhere? Watch this video to get some ideas on how to get by without a banneton. The ideas are all items from your own kitchen. These are ideas for final proofing, boules (round loaves), batards (oval loaves) and baguettes (everyone knows what a baguette is!)

Nice! I didn't know you could lightly spray a loaf to release it from cloth that's stuck to the dough. And you handled the razor cutting more assertively than I thought was okay. Your short tutorial was so helpful to this beginner. I also found some of the same containers in our kitchen like the straw bowls that rarely get used. They'll be in service often, now!

Thank you very much. Your explanation is very useful for me that I’m a newei in this. I tried several times to make a sourdough started but I gave up, I even got the bannetons and some other equipment. It was now with the locked down that I have more time to navigate and I started to see KZbin and I finally got the idea how to make the starter. I actually have one and have made several breads, I’m not satisfied with the spring and other things, like it’s still too sour. I hope I can master it. I’ll take a look at your other videos. I’m impressed with your expertise in this video. Thanks again!

I bought restaurant-style polypropylene woven faux wicker bread baskets (round and oval) I got on Amazon, and lined them with 20"x20" linen napkins from Target. They work GREAT but you don't get the spiral markings like from Rattan bannetons. I don't mind, because I don't like those grooves in my loaves anyway. I got six bannetons this way, and 12 linen napkins for less than 2 rattan bannetons go for these days--and I got them in less than a week, and the baskets are dishwasher safe!
