19:05 A suggestion on how to end the match is trebuchets. You almost don't need to use your army except to protect the trebs. It creates a situation where you force the opp to come out and kill your siege. You don't have to fight under their defenses but can actually create your own defenses to fight under and finish the game. One very powerful move is to get a keep + boiling oil to protect your siege from. The lame thing is springalds, right? I absolutely hate that they have 10 range instead of 8. But well, even then, moving into the trebs/siege finisher move, specially if you can pay for a forward keep, forces the opponent into siege himself which he will have a really hard time paying for with the weaker eco and the fact that he has to pay for farms for not having acess to food on the map. I see way too many players not trying to finish the game with siege in castle age. Usually ppl try to mass up an army, win a big battle and dive under the opponent's defenses. I have no idea why this is the preferred option instead of trying to creating tactical advantages even when the economy differences allow it.

Nice game! Do you think keshik mercenaries would have been enough to stop the early MAA flood? Or would you just add in a couple spearmen and be fine?

The best counterplay I can think for the Byzantines to do is to: • basically ignore gold except for the Feudal Age upgrade, because it doesn't matter to the rest of the counterplay plan • outpost the berries 🍒 because it is the most important area, especially when olive groves get added around the Grand Winery • get either Keshiks or Javelin Throwers (they do more damage so are less affected by armour 🛡), as the Feudal mercenaries. Keshiks seems to be much better, especially as the Order of the Dragon units are not counter attacking, so you get to heal a lot of damage (e.g. from them getting blocked) • build a market and in case you need to buy olive oil • try and do a Feudal defense, as your opponent invested a lot of resources into the attack. Buy olive oil to make your army better, especially once you can get back onto the gold once the early rush units are dealt with • remember to quick wall as the slow units give you time to react Alternatively, you after the outposting the berries 🍒 , and ignoring gold other than the Feudal Age age up steps you could try: • mass Limitanei only. You can start making them in the Dark Age for production efficiency and to harass the gilded spearman. • The Imperial Hippodrome. Just for the free production building. Considering you opponent invested a lot in the early game, it the long term inefficiency shouldn't be to much of a problem.

how do the shift click on relics work when i hold shift they all run to the first relic?

i dont like the school lm for byzantines. The math sounds good but when i build it it it mostly feels like it does nothing. Getting a couple extra units is mostly whatever. Also super annoying how it works. It should just make the units cheaper instead some random spawn. For me foreign company is much better. I love the royal cannons. Really good to get premium siege without spending gold. It also gives you some really good unique upgrades for the mercenerys.

jo hab das heute mal ausprobiert im quick match und einfach als paltin spieler 2 eroberer weggenatzt :D vllt kannst du ja mal meine games anschauen und was dazu sagen ich bin jedenfalls überzeugt und morgen werden paar ränge geclimbed. vielen dank dafür
