correct me if I am wrong, but Em Jea basically could have had the whole table at 8:28 using the Craterhoof => everything +8/+8 which would cancel the goad from Baeloth and swinging with something like 70 power, trample and deathouch into everyone. but anyway, nice gameplay as always :)

@@TCG9777 not really. there are 44 cards that mentions goad on them, and some of them are just terrible, and others don't really have any goad strategies surrounding it like jon irenicus or the beamtown bullies. and ofc they'll make a good couple of them in commander products because that's the only place where they can print them since it doesn't work in constructed. we got a lot this year but even then that's mostly because we just overall get so much rn because wotc pumps out a crazy amount of stuff non stop

Krenko seems to need more lands. Or you need to keep at least a 3 land hand. It's not very cardraw heavy, have you considered staff of nin/Endless atlas?
@jameskerr2262 жыл бұрын
As a Krenko player, you either need to start with 3 lands or atleast 2 and a mana rock. I've found that mulligans are essential to how your game plays, I assume that I will only see 1 card per turn so having the right opening hand is important.

Funnily enough, I think this game perfectly exemplifies the purpose of running blue in commander and how it balances the format. Players can’t just cast spells without fear of interaction like what occurred. Without blue, decks would just be designed to vomit things onto the board as fast as possible making most games just, “who curved out better” as seen here.
@Abraktil2 жыл бұрын

@MeepOfFaith2 жыл бұрын
I mean you could essentially run the same combo and just play Endraze Forerunners with the ability to vomit your entire deck onto the field. It's still lethal. Craterhoof just needs less numbers to kill people.
@BelieMyBurial2 жыл бұрын
@@MeepOfFaith in this specific instance, sure, just about anything will do after drawing your entire deck, but there's so many games out there where the Behemoth is effectively just 8 mana "counter me now or i win" for green. it's getting tiring to watch. having creatures or 8 mana is barely even a stipulation for that color and you don't even need that many to deal shit tons of damage. Coalition Victory has nothing on Craterhoof and that's banned lol.
@afspeellijstnaruto2 жыл бұрын
I can undestand how you feel, but personally I'm actually getting more comfy with Craterhoof. There is so much bullshit/powercreep in mtg atm. A hoof that requires like 6 to 10 other creatures on the board for a win is pretty okay imo. It goes best with token strategies (instead of a deck that runs big creatures). THe only time where craterhoof is a real issue imo is when it gets sneak attacked in,....instead of hard casting. I'm more tired of the sanguine bond/exquisite blood combo or thassa's oracle tbh (although the latter is more cedh than casual ofc.). And at least you can fog craterhoof haha

@Krimson512 жыл бұрын
You can draw out your library one card at a time with staff so they can just stop once they hit the hoof.
@jgroen55452 жыл бұрын
@@Krimson51 you "can", but as far as i could tell, thats not what they actually did though. It was stated as "they draw their entire deck, play a bunch of creatures, and win". If you play a combo, you better know how it works. If you f*** it up, you die. No take backsies for stuff like that. And you have to decide how many you draw before you play your first creature due to there still being a cathar trigger on the stack to destroy the staff. All the draws are in response to that.
@jgroen55452 жыл бұрын
@@Krimson51 also they were not looking for the hoof i dont think. I believe they already had it in hand. The drawing of the hoof was revealed due to oracle of mul daya. So this wasnt digging for a specific card, this was just "drawing my deck because i can" before the staff is destroyed (the destroy trigger was still on the stack after all).
@Krimson512 жыл бұрын
@@jgroen5545 You can absolutely keep drawing in response to your draw and get to see every individual card before deciding to draw another before the stack resolves tho, seems like they had the win regardless no reason to argue tiny semantics in a casual format.
@jgroen55452 жыл бұрын
@@Krimson51 true but you do have to decide when you stop drawing before playing a creature. You cant just say "i draw my deck, and then play a lot of creatures followed by hoof for a massive pump and kill you" when that just factually is not the case.
