The position the liberals stated that the old site did not meet the Building Code is an outright lie. As long as the life safety components, such as: fire alarm systems, fire suppression systems and exit stairs and corridors are in place; the building is safe to occupy. It is law under the Fire Codes and under NFPA, both in Canada and the United States to have annual inspections to verify that these systems are fully operational and safe to occupy. I can understand, a renovation of 2.8 million but 9 million is just another abuse of power and indifference towards the taxpayers of Canada.

At one time I had some respect for Tom Clarke as a journalist. That has all gone out the window. Does he actually think Canadians are that lame or stupid to believe that after being hand picked by Trudeau and after Trudeau visiting him, that there was never ever any communications between him , Trudeau and Global Affairs in these matters. I am sure that Trudeau had a very convincing role in the selection of this condo as did Clarke. This was as if someone asked a realtor to find them a new residence and they accepted it without viewing it on line or in person to ascertain if it was truly what they wanted? Of course the other side would be that this condo is so over the top that how could anyone, even the $6K/night Trudeau not like it. Tom, you better be prepared to move to the guest room when Trudy comes for another visit.
