I understand pile 2. it is an addition to our situation, and the fears why it could not be taken to a higher level at the time. His fear of losing all his security and stability by emigrating is great. logically. It can be both, his safe place and mine and we will see where our ship ends up. Know that there is a big gap between wanting and being able to. I now understand that I can offer him this security and remove doubts, which I could not do then. pile 1: I understand the fear of rejection and escalation, and that he is holding back from an attempt. I have no longer made my feelings and wishes known because I don't want to distress him further and I don't want to let him down. run away. I waited for his first move to become interested.... Pile #1: You've so accurately described everything, I got the shivers. For me, this connection is 44 years in the making. I was 16 and he was 30 when we first met and it took another 5 years before we met again. I had ambivalent feelings about marrying him because we we came from different cultures, so I refused him. After that we lost touch. I married twice, and I know he was married at least once. It took me 35 years to get over him! Or so I thought. Now, just two days ago, out of the blues, he contacted me on FB and again he turned my life upside down. I thought I had no feelings for him, but my reaction was like it happened only yesterday. 44 years! Why now? I'm so confused and still so ambivalent. I'm 60 now and he's 74. We're both too old. I'm really afraid to rehash it all up again. So much grief happened in my life because of this man. Not his fault or mine. The love was always there but the circumstances were never favourable. It's incredible that the feelings have remained for this long, though. I can't ignore them. And, yet, I'm still afraid. Thanks for the reading.

Pile 1: Wow, reading your scenario gave me chills as we have some similar experiences. My connection started in 1980 when I was 15 and he was 29. It was instant soul recognition and magnetic attraction. However I was too young to realize all of this. Years later, I understood. We were in and out of each other's lives for years. Every time we'd run into each other, it was like we had never been apart. He would be very stoic and acted always in control (Virgo sun) but his eyes would give his emotions away. He was married when we first met. To my knowledge, still is married. Has kids and grandkids. I'm also married and have two adult children. I love my husband very much, but the intensity I had with my connection, who I know is my TF, was on another level. Something you can't explain, you just feel it. I have wondered if he felt the same about his wife vs me. We've never pushed this past the boundaries as both of us grew up religious and respect each other's vows. Last time we connected, he invited a couple of peers of mine from our HS tennis team to his tournament. He was coaching another team. My peers showed up later than me, so I said, "Hi" to him and he barely said "Hi" back. I stood in the background for 90 minutes wondering why he was giving me the silent treatment. My team mates and me had attended a few of his matches prior and he was always happy to see me and talk. This time was completely different. I was conflicted and walked away. I gave him a few days before I sent him an email asking him why he gave me the cold shoulder? He didn't reply. He's ghosted since. That was a few years ago. I'm 59 and he's 72. So as you, we're too old to go through all the obstacles to get together. However, at the very least, I would welcome reconciliation to get some closure and know our connection is on good standing. I've since moved to Florida. I'm sure he has no clue I've moved. I feel your pain and what having this type of connection can do to a person's soul. Thank you for sharing your experience because I've always felt as if my situation was so atypical from most on these type of readings. All the best to you.

@@gemini6828 Thank you so much for sharing your experience. I, also, thought my situation was atypical. Reading your story was like reading mine. Very similar the strength of the connection. In my case, he found me on Facebook and sent me a Friend Request. I didn't see it until now because I don't use FB. I sent a message but he still hasn't replied. I'm not surprised because it's always been that way. I suspect he's my Twin Flame, too. Certainly, I never felt like this for any man I've met in my life, not even my two husbands. I'm divorced from both now. No relationship ever worked for me. This man always lurked in my mind in the background. Thanks again for sharing. I'm so glad I'm not alone. xx
