Ruined kai's character more, didn't focus much on him or Zane, too many filler episodes, too many wasted potentials, too many overused and unfunny jokes, not serious at all even though it could've been ninjago's darkest season, Lloyd gets more screentime than Kai and Zane, Kai barely does anything. The purple ninja's return and some of the jokes actually being funny are the only good things in the season

Zane was basically brainwashed/manipulated into violating his programming and purpose. Kai lost his powers and felt useless because of it (which honestly isn’t entirely out of character, considering his powers now operate independent of Lloyd’s and that was the first time he’d lost his powers since season 5, not counting being locked up with vengestone). Zane almost froze Lloyd in corrupted ice and only stopped because his memory came back. Pixal almost died fighting the preeminent (fun fact, I rage quit after watching that episode). It’s even referenced how “not the best for kids” the season is when Cole scares the kids in the ice fishers’ village. “You think that story is appropriate for little kids?” “Five to thirteen? Absolutely!” There are multiple times where Kai feels useless before completely regaining his powers, and there are instances of Nya feeling useless too (since her powers can’t do much in the Never-Realm). I’m pretty sure if the ninja didn’t need therapy before season 11, they definitely do afterwards, especially Zane and Kai honestly. And the entire thing where Lloyd is talking to Akita about how traumatized he is? Really shows how traumatized he is, and how dark the show has gotten. TL;DR: a lot of jokes ≠ not serious/dark.
