-As I said, I'm always working on an animation; I saw the spongebob musical some time ago and I thought about doing something about it since this show has been one of my favourites when I was a child. I also wanted to practice animating movements so here it is the result. I have to say there's parts I don't like at all but I think it's important to look at the mistakes and learn from them ;o. Anyway, hope you enjoy!
-Also, because I started the animation a few months ago, the beginning is in a "different" artstyle and the movement is not as good as in the end, for example.

What is happening in the video?
SpongeBob’s pleasant existence is abruptly interrupted when it is discovered that Mt. Humongous, a nearby volcano, will erupt within the next 48 hours and completely obliterate Bikini Bottom. SpongeBob, trying to prove to himself and the world that he is not “just a simple sponge,” resolves to save the day when everybody else has given up all hope. [ StageAgent info. ]
Why did you animate them in human form instead of the original designs?
First of all, I don't know how to draw them in their original designs and animate them either. Because the musical is performed by actors and actresses in human form I decided to keep it like that.

Nice to see there are other people who loved this show. I remember seeing this during a dress rehearsal for VIP’s, I had front row seats and even got a selfie with Patchy the Pirate. I was wondering how they would make a Spongebob musical but I was amazed. The plot was great and they made it somewhat gritty while also keeping Spongebob’s sense of humor. And the actors portrayed the characters perfectly. They managed to create a stage play with visual gags along the line of the cartoon. I was so sad to hear the show closed, but it’s memory will always live on in my heart. This video brought a tear of joy to my eye.

I FINALLY watched the original movie! It’s so good and funny. “No control” part was my favorite part of the play. Unfortunately, I didn’t see it live in person. And I’m a HUGE SpongeBob fan. This was a great animation too!❤
