How? Kevin James is a trained actor, Javier Bardem is an academy award winner actor, the Cohen’s are 4 time academy award winning writers and directors. Substituting a trained actor in an extremely well written scene isn’t all that. Now if you put a random Joe Schmo in the role like me, and I kill it, then that would would deserve all the praise for the writer, director and Javier.
@nebulousisgod4 жыл бұрын
Jared Fehrens Nah, I disagree. Kevin could’ve re-enacted many scenes from other movies and it would be redundant to watch. This scene with Bardem is so dope it’s still very watchable with a silly comedian doing the scene holding a boom mic. I get what you mean but this film deserves all that praise and then some. The way the Coens and their screenwriting partners translated the book onto screen is spectacular and by far the least changed than any book to movie film I’ve ever seen. The dialogue is a lot more long winded in the book but aside from that there’s only one scene that was changed completely.

Please turn from your sins and get baptized in Jesus name and receive the holy ghost and walk in holiness . Heaven and hell is real. Everyone will stand before God and confess with their mouths that he is Lord. We will all be judged accordingly to how we've all lived. Don't choose the world that gives you nothing but a moment of pleasure, instead of choosing God, that gives you everything you need for eternity. Joy, happiness, love. Nothing can compare to this. This life is nothing but a vapor but eternal life with our Lord and Savior is forever. Jesus loves you more than any family member or friend. And he is faithful. And he is not giving up on you. One thing I never realized about this scene until watching Kevin James’ parody is that, once the old man wins the coin toss, Anton is genuinely happy for him (well, as happy as a cold-blooded assassin can be, I suppose). Javier Bardem’s character truly saw himself as an agent of fate, so seeing fate reward an elderly father and husband did not upset him at all. In fact, I’d wager Chigurh came out of that store thinking: “He had an altercation with me and lived to tell the tale. Lucky bastard.”

@@jayroo10 One thing a lot of people living outside the US does not grasp about the US is it’s sheer size and complexity. And I don’t fault them. Chances are I know very little about the comings and goings of where you are from. That’s just how it is. Not being elitist in any way - a propensity some of my dumber countryman seem to have. There are a boundless amount of cultures, localized dialects, accents, phrases, and traditions that cross this country. Hell, I myself as a full blown citizen living here my entire life am still learning about some of them despite being far more traveled and curious than the average American citizen. It takes longer to traverse my own one of 50 states than it does a lot of countries in this world, and within this one state there are a wide variety of extremely differing people and cultures. That’s just one state out of 50. Words and phrases on one end of this state are commonly understood within their locale but completely foreign to someone who doesn’t know the local lingo. Having lived on both sides of the state for considerable periods of time I’m probably one of the few who can interchange between those lingos and full on understand the conversations happening with me and around me. My girlfriend despite living in the same country as myself has an entirely different accent, set of phrases, etc. due to the fact that we grew up more than 500 miles apart. The US is much, much bigger and expansive than outsiders would give credit for as I’ve seen in the past. The only country who could possibly one up us in that department would be Russia, and that’s because you could fit several US’s inside of it. Imagine all of Europe as one country, and then you may get a feel for what it is like to visit different corners of the US.
