I have a 2013 suburban and I’ve had all these issues!!! No crank everything worked got jump it cranked!! So I replaced battery no problems since2yrs ago!! I’ve had service stability /traction control transmission yerking misfires, replaced plugs air filter great for six months then reduce engine!!! I looked at plugs again 1& 7 fualted out!! I replaced checked for shorted fuel injector,, all good so I dumped 1 gallon of laquar thinner with ten gallons of gas till empty all issues gone!! Now 14 months later and all good. So I just had a clogged injector.. so to all stop replacing all these expensive parts it all comes to plugs and air filter and using good fuel, also dumping fuel cleaner once in a while will save you these troubles!!! Good luck oh and last of all!! Keep in mind that these vehicles no longer have distributors, wich means that you have got to have a very good source of power,(BATTERY)!!!

Maybe longshot, but what about basics? The battery, the battery terminals, and yes I know you haven't done any voltage checks yet. Corrosion somewhere is my guess and that's first place to check. 2012 GMC Acadia Denali AWD with an intermittent no crank no start where when the key is turned to the ignition position the dash radio and headlights all lose power and there is no attempt to crank. The battery was replaced very recently so I checked battery terminal connections under the floor in the back as well as the connects at the fuse box in the engine bay. The connections are all free of corrosion and are all tight. So I checked the relays in the fuse box, crank and ignition, those weren't the problem. So I checked the fuses for the ignition ECM battery etc, all fuses are good. So I checked the connections on the body control module, all good. No engine codes, no yellow lock light so not an anti theft lockout. I tried whacking the starter, nothing.

I'd check the battery. Had a 94 Suzuki swift that at times won't crank. Just hear the starter solenoid clicking. Put a jump starter and it would start every time. Went to a local auto parts store and had the battery checked and it passed. Finally put a larger battery and never had any more problem. Voltage didn't go below 9 volts when I did a crank test. Maybe the battery didn't have enough amps to work with.

Sometimes shorted battery cells can cause problems like these...The problem with batterys is that shorted cells a hard to diagnose because sometimes a bad cell disapears out of nowhere. Sorry bad for my english. It not my first language ;-)

Boosting the battery to above 6v makes sense if the connection is faulty plus the no crank. Haha I would start at the battery. It's obvious I'm a DIY'er. LOL On to part 2 👍👍

Arsinoe iv Lost Princess these models are notorious for water leaking in from the sunroof set up which completely covers the battery after it rains. Not saying this is the issue for this vehicle but not a great drainage design from GM.

Think about this: you pull an important fuse (fuel/ECM) and it scans NO DTC Codes? Everything's ok, huh? WOW. The whole bloody nightmare needs recalled.

PS I told them to try O2 sensor spacers for the downstreamers first, as they had enough room for them, and easy for DIY mechanic to get to .. can't hurt .. maybe save about $450 at least for a while.

Shortly after all that it started going into limp mode just out of the blue from time to time,and if it sends any kind of ice or snow on road it will go to limp mode. I'm 125 miles from amarillo tx that's where the shops was we took it to.

By pulling the fuse, you're creating a "no voltage" condition... isn't that the modules natural state when the ignition relay is not activated? Would you not have to apply less than 6 volts (or whatever the threshold was) to try to recreate the error? Just guessing here... great video!

have you checked the ignition switch? this would interrupt power to the ecm/fpcm, and cause a no crank, and no start issue. start by probing voltage to ignition coils in run, as well as voltage to the fpcm in run position.

Mine is the same vehicle. We've replaced the battery and alternator. We're working on changing the starter today. The only thing with mine is it doesn't say reduced engine power. No codes on it either. Sometimes it starts and sometimes it doesn't.

There's a lot of global head scratching goin on trying to find the problem.Never seen so many modules in my life. The thing is where do ya start looking with all them variables ? It was bad enough when the pcm arrived on the scene but these modules are a different kettle of fish entirely.What we see and what the pcm sees are not the same.

That's why I agree with Scotty Kil, sorry SCOTTY KILMER VROOOM!!! about buying a used euro luxury car BMW,Benz,Jag, etc. They're cheap on the secondary market for a reason. After the lease and warranty runs out and they're resold is when all the $1000+ dollar parts and gadgets start failing and you're left with a money pit. Not worth it with more economical and maintainable vehicles around.

CO Jones guess what happened today! We had a 2004 Mercedes e320 in the shop with non working rear taillamp. Pulled bulbs out, both good. Did some digging and found out that rear lamps and other crap controlled by SAM module and guess what, driver is burned inside that module and not powering tail lamp! New module is like 600 plus needs programming! Customer is shocked, but hey he got the car cheap!

Your issue is a bad Pcm or Ecm .I had a intermittently no start condition with a chevy colorado with the P0606. Which took me a while to figure it out. So dont break your head any more. From One tech. to another. You will thank me. Also take a look at the starter relay with bad contacts on the relay box. You might be able to add a little solder to the relay pins to make a better contact. Your tech buddy from miami.

Is there a way to look at it's service record to see if the dealership even did replace the fuel pump module? I have had a few foul instances dealing with certain places here in wv about doing warranty work. Most places will just deny you till you call corporate on them.

Negaton that's a pretty good explanation, maybe they tested it, it was fine, and they removed the VIN or something, as I understand all dealers regardless of make have to do with a recall, then it failed at a later date. They're putting extended warranties on some parts on recalls also. GM also allows for the owner to check recalls themselves by website database search. I could be confusing this with something else, but through many years of GM vehicle ownership, they supposedly have a mode the engine goes into if it overheats or something, I study my manuals. It could also maybe be a different part that is being recalled, and they haven't caught on to this part being bad also.

Yeah I just got done watching the second video and I believe it can either be the battery or the fuel module since there was salt around the harness and it did look rather questionable. I had a battery that appeared good while initially hot and while after that reading around 12.6 but after like a night's wait it would read around 12ish with no draw. I believe Ivan will solve the issue and I am rooting for him that and the suspense on what problem happens to be is killing me.

Multiple times have I encountered tsb's or campaigns, etc. that fix the vehicle but are not included in the VIN list. As if they missed VIN's.

Hey Ivan, could you tell me, on the wiring diagram, the symbol that represents the fuel pump control module, looks like a resistor with a black arrow coming from it, what does the symbol represent, it appears a lot on your wiring diagrams? Thanks Jonathan

The resistor with the arrow symbol is the Fuel Level Sending Unit. Since all it is is a variable resistor it uses the standard electrical symbol. The pump motor looks kind of like a wristwatch face circle with a box on opposite sides and usually has an "M" in the circle for Motor. Both symbols are usually in a larger box to show that they are grouped together in the same assembly, the fuel pump module.

Definitely the WCM causing the problem. It can't tell whether the window is down or not and since leaving the window down causes more drag there will be reduced power. So replace every module, curse every auto engineer ever born, shoot it out of pure frustration, have the local priest exorcise it, then roll it over a cliff and burn it. Then send the bill to the customer *nods head sagely JustKidding :P

Ivan wasn't 100% clear. What I think he meant is that most of the Pro subscription services has each page of the diagram as a separate jpq on it's own hyperlink. So you have to click page one and zoom in, not what you want, click page two and zoom in. Need to look back at page one, close page two and click page one and zoom. Then you have to click and print each page separately. Really annoying for a 15 page diagram. BBB diagrams have the whole subsystem(starting, Engine controls,etc) all in one PDF file where you can zoom in, go back and forth, and print out the whole thing at once..

Programming fees. There's a scam for you. I could see having to reprogram the ECM for keys and such, but why should something like the window module have to be programmed to the vehicle. They should register themselves when they are plugged in. Kind of like a flash drive when you plug it in the USB.
