I’m a young man, a Christian from South Africa. These videos so crucial to ensuring the next generation do not take fore-granted that the same industrial slaughter could not happen again. It could, and keeping the memory of these Jewish men and woman alive is critical to preventing the same from reoccurring. Thank you Yad Vashem for your work.

Unfortunately, it could happen again. Look how the upheaval and hatred are happening in many countries, these days, including in the USA.. I've been considering (moving to) Canada, its so bad and scary. Remember, as many Holocaust survivors have stated, "it started out slow, the change and animosity with neighbors and community. People who were friendly or at least cordial with them, had eventually turned on them, against them. It is happening a lot lately, and for no good reasons. Yes, it can happen again, and people Don't learn from past mistakes. They act like Ostriches hiding their head blindly, thinking it Won't Happen again... not to their Country, not to their State, Town, Neighborhood, Not to Thier Family. History Does repeat itself. Its not all good. Lets hope it won't happen again as terrible as back then. Afterall we're more civilized than back-then. HAH! (this last statement was pure sarcasm). Sorry.

@@17luckynumbers I wish I had your optimism. However, I was talking out of frustration and disgust. Soo many shootings (killings) for no good reasons. My reasoning is simply this (about our USA).. It starts out small "taking away a law, or right (even in our constitution) God Forbid.. Then its replaced with another one, one which can take-away more.. bigger rights and laws. Pretty soon All... Everything is "Taken Away", or changed to one sides political advantage. They are starting with Womens Rights. Its not Just about abortion rights, (we women KNOW what its more than that), its about laws which were already voted on, long before now, and now its in process to be taken away.. along with some other laws & rights which are in jeopardy. Remember, it starts with one or two rights & laws, then these people "move-on" to others, to more, changes and vetos and pretty soon its not just these brainless thugs taking matters into their hands, and killing innocent people (as they are doing now), but the law will be backing these people, with the governments blessings. We are quickly marching Backwards.

I’ll never ever forget Anna from Latvia! We sat by each other on the bus to work. She told me when she was 15 her parents put her on a ship bound for the US. She came here by herself with no money and couldn’t speak English. I asked her if she ever went back and saw her family again? Not knowing it was WWII and she was Jewish is why! I was too young to put it all together. She was amazing and we were friends until I moved away. I feel bad that I really didn’t know what her and her family had been through. She never said 😢

I feel so privileged to read your story. My family are Jewish Americans, my Dad spoke 10 languages and was quite fluent in French and learned Irish Gaelic. He was a Merchant Marine Operator who with the last name we have of Shultz, was able to use his German last name and language skills to intercept radio communications with other subs and big military ships. We can thank the British Skippers for using multi-lingual American Jews to get this done as well as the Irish who taught my Irish looking Dad their Irish Gaelic which helped to communicate to our American and British ships. My Dad walked into Auschwitz and Bergen-Belsen as an interpreter and liberator. I just want you to know that I am aware through him what happened to hiding children in France, Belgium, Switzerland, Holland and yes, the British did their part and the French were very kind and helpful. I know this and other facts not shared but I repeat this al ate, never forget, I mean, never forget.

Thank you for sharing your testimony. It’s nothing short of a miracle that your immediate family all survived. I loved the part where you didn’t know the little boy that was with your dad was your little brother and you asked your dad why he was coming along. The family that you lived with during the war were extraordinary. Not only did they put their own family at risk but they made you a part of their own. I love how they told you to keep pictures of your family in your bedroom and to tell them about your day each day. So very thoughtful and moving. what a lovely, touching and wonderful story. How lucky Nathan was in a time of such hatred and murder, having 2 families loving and caring for him and his needs and his safety with everyday things and happenings for a child to live and grow. His parents putting his care & safety first, beyond their apprehension and heartache but what was best for him. Also, the bonding and love and care with his pseudo-parents sacrificing themselves, their family's safety to keep him for the duration of the war. What a touching Love story! To think of people like this with hearts of Gold, when there were others, not even the killer Nazis, who were murdering in the neighborhoods and streets, with their hearts of Black. This world, both then and now, have good and bad people in it. And watch out for the Indifferent (fence sitters) they sway with the majority.
