This is really nice and captures some of that Adrian Young feel who unlike a typical punk drummer plays with a lot of accents on his hi hat which works perfectly on songs like Don't Speak. Adrian Young always keeps his playing under control which was something I struggled with but you managed it well here.

I love No Doubt with all my heart. They went darker (as they themselves said) so I undestand why they slowed down their punky/ska sound. "Return Of Saturn", the record after "Tragic Kingdom" is a masterpiece, very alternative and more New Wave oriented. They even said in interviews in a joking way (before "Return Of Saturn" were released) that they were preparing a "gothic album". And I honestly can hear the influence of bandS like The Cure, Joy Division, Siouxsie and The Banshees, B-52'S, The Cars (etc.) on that album and also some ska-ish inspired songs (also the B-Sides from the "Return Of Saturn" era compiled in the album "Everything in Time" were masterpieces). Not to mention the impovement in lyrics terms during that era. Everything was fine until that. But everything after Return Of Saturn was just commercial bs and embarrassing...and it was very sad. Rock Steady is just crap honestly in my opinion. Yeah, it was fun and well produced it was Pop... However, It has some gems like "Hella Good" and "Don't Let Me Down" but that's it. "It's My Life" was a very very very good cover too. But "Push and Shove", their so anticipating "comeback" album after years of a long hiatus was absolutely disappointing. They wanted to repeat the success of Rock Steady but it failed. However I have to say "Push and Shove" is a good New Wave album, but they should have released it after a cool punky/ska and rock album as everyone expected them to release as a comeback album after so many years of waiting for new music from them. If u think of No Doubt the first think that comes to your mind is their "Tragic Kingdom" sound, that's why "Push and Shove" failed. Too overproduced. However there are two hidden gems on it: a New Wave MASTERPIECE called "Undercover" and a well done and cool alternative/rock ballad called "Undone" (this last one could have fit well on the "Return Of Saturn" album.) Anyways, they're all good musicians. Gwen solo stuff have a lot of good songs that are at the same level than No Doubt. So I will never stop loving them, I grew up with them so I know what they're able to create. So I will always expect new music from them (No Doubt and Gwen as a solo artist) and support them bc they deserve it.
