Good job not getting too focussed on the flaps - kept flying the airplane and landed without incident. My M20J recently had the U/C breaker trip and the gear wouldn't come up. Reset it three times (once too many in hindsight), but to no avail (one of my recent videos showed this). Spent $3k for the engineer to tell me he couldn't find the issue - he swung it heaps of times, even under load and she worked fine. After greasing the UC motor, it was released back to me as airworthy. Hate it when they can't find what happened to cause it.

I noticed the breaker not in when you said your flaps were not working. I d have not touched while flying though just as you did. Never know if there was an electrical surge somewhere. Better to troubleshoot on the ground than in flight! Good job

Just curious if you were able to nail down what may have tripped the breaker. Fellow 201 owner here. Thanks!

I still don't understand the fear from some pilots about not using flaps. In all my years, I only used flaps a couple of times. And that was just to see if there was any difference in landing technique. Nope, couldn't tell any difference.

Who said there was fear?

No flap with an inexperience Mooney pilot on a short runway could become an issue when getting into ground effect other than that it's hold her off for a normal landing if you have the runway acreage lol.
