I have always thought that Junk Journals evolved from a way to use all that "junk" mail we get. What is my journal might not be the next persons', I enjoy them all. This one I will make since I have way too much paper and I like playing with paper. Don't we all? Thank you for taking the time to share this I love it.

Actually junk journals started as a way to save money on scrapbook supplies. It started around 2008 during the financial crisis.

I believe a purists junk journal is entirely made out of junk, things that would be thrown away otherwise. But I'm glad everyone makes them how they want however they want out of whatever, new or junk stuff doesn't matter. It is all art in my eyes. I, also, have way too much paper

I love that so much! I bought the whole line of that paper and I was so disappointed in it but you have given me something to use it up with. I would say that is more of a shabby ephemera holder then a junk journal. Junk journals are traditionally done with junk mail and scraps of packaging etc… using junk but you can call it whatever you like since there is no right or wrong way to make journals. Either way I love it and I plan to make a few!!! Great job as always! 💖🌸💖

I used to buy paper craft/scrapbooking/craft mags and get paper or card in it and i would what to do something with it but not know what to do despite ideas /projects being inside the mag itself but I thought I'm not good enough for these projects . Just so you know, we are in Australia and work in cm's but all our crafting is done in inches. Very easy to work with those measurements even though we don't usually use inches. So don't stress over that. I never have a problem working in inches on my craft.

I think I’ll make a handful of these in some Christmas double sided paper I have left over. I usually give thanksgiving dinner guest or If im going to someone else’s house, all the women that are expected a small gift and these would be perfect for their Christmas shopping lists. One pocket can be for receipts, one area for orders placed, one for lists of family, friends, etc gift lists, card list check off and even the Christmas dinner meal and shopping list too.

Love this! Love so many pockets and the curved edges. What paper did you use????? It's so so pretty! Just right for winter projects! I guess a "junk journal" just has more "junk" in it! That's how I differentiate them.... so if you put little misc. pages in this one, from old papers, etc. then it IS a junk journal! otherwise I call it a folio or pocket folio.. but the name doesn't really matter.. it's just darned cute!

Cute projects…as usual. Yours are pretty relaxed tutorials. I appreciate the post it notes with paper sizes and score info! Have you noticed you do not press where you glue or if you do, not all the parts you glued? Sometimes you press where you didn’t glue. Pretty amusing! Check it out.

Hi Michelle, this is so cute. I definetly want to make on of these. I havent been crafting lately, about teo weeks ago, I flipped over a pan to put eggs on my husbands plate and felt an excruciating pain and tingling in my right thumb. So now I just have to be careful. I've been putting cream on it to help with pain until im able to visit the doctor next month, thats the earliest they had.😔

Oh no Jen! I hope you feel better and heal soon. I know it can really stink when our bodies don’t cooperate. I think you may have hit a nerve. My friend did something similar with a knife and she got that sensation. I think when it heals you will stop feeling it. Big hugs and speedy recovery
