The Irish Viking Sora's calculational capabilities are within human range. Coin tosses are commonly used as RNG because they depend on a freaking large amount of things. Sora can't calculate even one coin toss. Shiro totally can, but she was not the one who did the tossing.

Them calling themselves [Blank] is not "stupid". In Japanese, Sora is written as 空, the character itself meaning "empty/void". Shiro is written as 白, the character itself meaning "white". When both characters are combined, 空白 means almost like 空, but more specific, meaning something like "blank" in English. It's genius wordplay.

The reason he disappeared was to get the elf girl to monitor the game between the beasts and humans, becuses beasts use video games that no other races knows about they win easy. But sora also keeps the right to manipulate the elf girls memories to implant fake ones about the game. And thus when the elves attack they still maintain the advantage The coin flip is also symbolism about how instead of one race taking over another they can just work together, so he had it land in the crack in the ground to tie it.

This is probably my favorite anime ever. There's so much references, puns it makes it so perfect I can literally not get bored of watching it. Every time I either find out something new or enjoy what I already know.
