Really love the video. I have been looking for some good demonstrations of no-gi judo and really appreciate this content. QQ, could this also be called utsuri-goshi?
@ddturnerphd2 жыл бұрын
From my perspective utsuri-goshi would more likely be set up from more of a belly-to-flank entry, possibly an attempted ura-goshi, then popping your hip through in front of uke during the lift to change the attacking angle a full 180°.
@SylvainHamel2 жыл бұрын
It wouldnt. Typical situation for utsuri is that the oponen attacks your neck (Koshi guruma) but doesnt manage ton break tour posture. You then counter by lifting and passing your hip in front, unrolling your oponent like a rug.

@@SylvainHamel Awesome, thank you for the clarification on this. I am still a white belt, so any insight I can get into the nuances of throws and when they should be used is very well appreciated.

@@ddturnerphd Thank you very much for the explanation. I am still learning about the various throws of judo, so this was very helpful for me.

some people say that mongol uchimata because it's very similar action with belt wrestling . In korea belt wrestling athlete call this name deul-bae-ji-gi means raise opponent body using your belly. also very similar okinawa sumo skill

Is that from sireum or am i wrong

May you please do a video on no gi grips?, as in the really basic stuff.
@liamcage72082 жыл бұрын
Is that version a legal Judo competition technique, is that grip legal without starting from traditional grip? The more wrestling like version you showed where you turn him rather than lift, it seems that it would make for a good hari type of sweep at the end in Judo competition for ippon, ...your thoughts?
