Not sure why you're having problems. I've beat mine like a red headed step child and its been fine. They typically get very poorly assembled, so it pays to treat it like you're assembling it when first you buy it.

Think you got a lemon, man. Brakes needed tweaked at an LBS and derailleur adjusted but other than that mine came put together sanely. Never any weird noises, no issues with tires even after neglectful (lack of) storage and consistent use.

I was going to return it but instead bought a 2nd one. It was the .m2 m.2 version with little improvements. It still had the bad brake issue. Will return both.

The derailleur just needs the limits adjusted. I have the same bike and once the limits were set, it shifts smoothly and perfect. I agree, the stock brakes suck. But for what I paid for the bike, it is a hell of a deal. I upgraded to mt200 Shimano brakes and am replacing the fork. I will probably have 500 in it when I'm done.

Why buy a $400 bike and put $500 into it when you can get a factory bike from a reputable brand with quality components for $900 and up?

@@tspbod260 You're not going to get a much better fork than what came with that for less than $100 unless you're buying used. And there's no way upgrading to Shimano brakes AND replacing the fork will cost just $100.

ANY 5TH GRADER knows to adjust shifting limits before riding, but the video is refering to the chain tripping on uphill which usually is due to a bad chain, chainring etc. Also read the description pls. Why pay 400 for walmart and not 500 for cannondale
@Steppin11074 ай бұрын
@@barfo281 You can start riding when you only have $400. When you get enough money down the line you can upgrade it for a better experience. When starting a hobby it could be nice to start with something moderate/budget so you can decide if you want to invest more later. Although I would personally check the used market first.

The components are all trash and the frame deep guages and scratches like cheese. I think i can break it into 5 pieces with a hammer in 60 seconds. I bought a 2nd one btw that was the m.2 version. It was equally cheap. Bought a 2022 carbon Stumpjumper for 2k and now ozark is something i cannot even look at. Upgrading this poj is like buying a home in a bad hood and updating it.

@@goodcyrus I'm talking about the fork on MY bike. Rockshox silver tk air fork. And my brakes are Shimano 200 hydraulic brakes. My tires cost $90 each. I started with a $400 bike. And now my bike feels as good if not better than a $1500 bike. The Cannondale you mentioned earlier does NOT feel like a $1500 bike. Go watch what berm peak thinks about the Ozark trail ridge. I built mine even better than his and he thinks his Ridge feels better than a $1200 or $1300 bike. Sorry but the Ozark trail ridge is only worth it if you know how to upgrade.

1. Brakes made noise, didn't stop well and pads had deep grooves in them after 3 weeks. Not sure why and not a deal killer. 2. I immediately set the limits on the derailleur from its terrible initial setting but the chain still trips on occasion, pedaling uphill which usually means worn chain or other drivetrain issues. 3. Tires seem glued to the rim, not sure if tubeless as it is firmly stuck to the rim. Goat heads put over 60 holes into both tires destroying any tube inside or the tubeless tires. 4. Not a good buy imho. Local lbs thought absolutely not worth upgrading as all components are already on par w each other.

Your mistake was buying that bike and keeping is stock. The frame isn't terrible for the price but come on man, the bikes are assembled bad.

This bike is fine. You're just for some reason picky on cheap bikes. Somehow expecting a great bike right out of the box for $400... Unreal. Everyone else seems to loves their Ridge. Most of them upgraded the parts you're complaining about. 🤷
@goodcyrus3 ай бұрын
As i said: you'd have to upgrade everything even the frame. Maybe i wasnt clear, but a chunk of the aluminum bar came off right off the bat when i hit backyard wall at 2 mph! I think the frame can be broken into pieces with a hammer under 60 secs. Lol

So, let me get this straight, the components on a 400-dollar bike suck? Hmmmm, who would have thought. And riding over sharp things can puncture the tires? I never would have suspected that.......

Yes and the frame is also made of cheese and gets gouged very easily. I can break it into 4 pieces under 1 minute with a hammer.
