This is an approach I picked up listening to AWB and Michael Jackson's David Williams! In my mind it's kind of like turning the guitar into a percussion that also plays notes

Yeah, dig their stuff. Funny story, I had moved back to my hometown of Tacoma, WA in 2016, they were playing at a bar literally 2 blocks from my apartment. Free show I think, before they were widely known. I skipped it for some reason I can't remember lol
