Gay homosexuals Nick and Joseph spoil No Hard Feelings - a 2023 American sex comedy film directed by Gene Stupnitsky, who also co-wrote the screenplay with John Phillips.
Premise: On the brink of losing her home, Maddie finds an intriguing job listing: helicopter parents looking for someone to bring their introverted 19-year-old son out of his shell before college. She has one summer to make him a man or die trying.

I am sometimes same. But other times I am like Nick remembering details, directors, etc. I had a neighbor friend who was WAY into movies and being SOMETIMES like Nick, we had a lot to talk about and starting watching movies together regularly. Of the movies we watched together, my friend -- I'll call him Ryan -- remembered what I liked or didn't better than I did. *I think my brain just sometimes abdicates when someone else will remember!* 😂 I have some other instances like this in my life, even though I generally have an average to high memory. When he moved we eventually lost touch. To this day my other good friends are not surprised if they ask me what I thought about a certain movie and I say, "Hmm, sorry... That was one Ryan remembered if I liked or not." 😂😂😂

At the end of the movie when we see the letter she wrote to her father it seems the Post Office returned it as a bad address - - it isn't like he personally sent it back, so she had no idea how to find him. Except the house. He knew which house he bought her mother. Now that she's sold the house to her 2 friends if the dad ever tries to send her a letter at least they could forward it - - although we probably all agree he's not interested and never will be unless she does a DNA test and starts pestering his other kids, lol

I actually enjoyed the film I would’ve probably liked if they aged the characters Percy to maybe sophomore in college because I would’ve liked Percy and Maddie to be more than just friends 😊

She inherited the house free and clear so even if she sold it for only $200K she still got a nice chunk of money for someone with a fully paid off car who never worked at more than uber rides and bartending, but yeah, she missed her opportunity to sell it for probably closer to $600K and then she could have moved WITH her friends down to Florida, lol

She could have sold it for even more than that realistically. Like for a couple million. But we have to remember most of these films are aimed at general audiences, especially middle America that don’t realize just how much housing costs in these areas. Similarly, why any film set in Lon Angeles almost never exhibits just how traffic works in the city. Or that there are neighborhoods other than Santa Monica, Beverly Hills, or Hollywood. And that “Hollywood” as a neighborhood is also fairly general considering that there’s Hollywood, West Hollywood, North Hollywood & even “East Hollywood.”

Sounds like "Maddie" didn't quite hit the mark, but your review certainly did, summarizing the film's shortcomings concisely and effectively. The grooming criticisms probably stem from that people's brains aren't fully developed until they're 25 so with him being 19 and her being over 30 some people can see as grooming due to him not having a fully developed adult brain. Take that how you will

I think it mostly stems from the discourse surrounding age-gap relationships right now. Discourse that has also jumped the shark, because as with every other valid societal conversation- it eventually loses all nuance and context.

I don't understand why she had to sell the house.... she could've rented it to her friends at submarket rent and kept title, or even taken out a mortgage to use to buy a new home in California. I don't understand how she could've possibly "surprised" her friends by selling them her home. They would clearly know what home they purchased and presumably they would know that she lived there (unless they had never come over)!

I didn't think the parents sent her the car messed up. They had signed it over already and so when it was found under the tree somewhere, her name came up under the search. Does the DMV work that fast? no, but I think that's how it happened in the story.

I think there was some deeper meaning in the movie. Maddie’s grief and trauma and her relationship with Percy kind of uncovering her stunted growth/ambition. She finally found a deeper relationship with Percy, which i think Maddie had just been in superficial relationships with men never being vulnerable or open to growth, or just picking horrible men. I think there was something deeper there in this story. When she started crying during the piano scene is evidence of some of this.

We do know what Maddie will do in Califonia, there is a callback to another scene when she was 18, she decided to surf most of the 450 ca beaches, but never did it because of the storry with her farther, and then her mother got sick, and she decided to take care of her before she died. Going on this massive roadtrip, that will most likely take some years, and in fact it is Percy suggesting to her, that she should go, that is why he is smiling when she tels him, she is going. In the end scene, we see her surfing on a beach in LA. The movie is a bit complicated, you have to see it a few times to connect the backstrory.

Sure it has alot of problems but everyone has their own opinions on what is problematic, yet I loved it because it just went for the Raunchy Comedy that hasn't been seen since the early 2000's so it was unique in that way and that's what stood out from the Safe Generic comedy that is the norm today. It makes it Polarizing which is a good thing tbh.

I love Jennifer Lawrence and didn’t care for the movie. There were good elements but too many misfires. The part I laughed at most though was when the other animal shelter volunteer was giving her attitude so she yells “cocaine!” as she was leaving to rile up the police dog 😂
