I feel you have changed a lot form your original videos where you were fully into "positive reinforcement." I started volunteering at a large rescue stable just south of Denver as the result of watching your and others' videos. The problem with owning horses is they require a tremendous amount of care. It's easy to understand how it would be easy to get down. I did meet Buck Branaman this summer, and got to talk to him a little bit. He's been able to make a good living from his horsemanship skills. He's been making a good living sitting on the back of a horse for the past 40 years, but it has required a lot of sacrifice, travel, and time away from his family.

There is so much to look forward to BECAUSE of what you accomplished this summer!!! You have networked within the elite mustang community just by being so good at what you do here on KZbin. Girl. Thanks. I'm an old horsewoman that needed to hear that. I lost a year. A lame horse, a wet year, missing shows, no riding, more rain & another lame horse. And was starting to feel like All I did was work, and had no enjoyment this year. Yet I needed to count my "did's". I did finally solve my grass/ track system issue. I did get to know my new horse. I did count my blessings that we weren't in the path of Helene. Some years are tougher than others. It tests us...daily. Thank you. I'm in good company.

Wow how your video resonates with me. I feel like this every fall. I too am a lover of the sun and where I live fall is often cold, wet and cloudy. This year is especially hard. I got injured in a non horse accident and have been stuck at home unable to go out. Unable to see my horses or work with them. I just recently got a friend for my mare and had made plans to work with him and do lots of training. I had planned on trail riding all fall. But now it maybe spring before I can even get in the saddle. 😢 I miss my babies! Not seeing them is so hard.

Don't miss Summer, it's just visiting Australia right now. We will give it back before you know it. 🧡 You can use your winter to prepare for the next summer where you can do some of the fun things you felt like you missed out on doing. Or you could be a bit of a mad lad and do some summer activities in the winter time and still have some small enjoyments in life. I'm sure your horses all live in the moment, maybe you can live in the moment with them, even if it is winter.

❤🎉 Dear Britta, I'm nowhere near you in age, but I too must cry from time to time, go through the Kleenex, reflect a little more about the losses, the traumas, then get back to praising and thanking God. He is our source. He is the One we are preparing to meet ultimately, and all the rest is gravy... He's constantly there, waiting to hear from us. Trust me I know, cuz I've failed too many times to include Him first and foremost. In all our ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct our paths. He loves us, He was there first, and He's always waiting to hear more from us... just as any good Father would.. You've accomplished a lot Britta, and I don't think God wants you to be so hard on yourself. You bring your viewers joy, and that's a good thing. 🙂😘❤️🙏

Thank you. You are already a very good story teller and I am not sure I have seen horses filmed so beautifully for a long time. This is the first video of yours that I have seen and it was very well done. My mental health is not always great. In June I caught a virus - probably covid, that had me out of commission for more than two months. The fatigue gave me time to rejuvenate my tired mind. The timing coincided with the start of a therapy that was new to me and just what I needed. Please keep filming and share whatever happens, it doesn’t have to be spectacular to be good. You have a skill in this regard that records the quiet times with such a fresh appeal.

Boy did this video hit home with me. Every year, everyone I know feels these same feelings. Its ok to greive what could have been. But careful, only do this for a second. Why a second? Cause in order to think you have failed, you have to compare yourself to an imaginary perfect version of yourself. Dark thoughts would have us condemned for not living up to perfection. Did you know that depression (which was dominant in my life) cant stay when we praise God? So as an old lady now I have learned to say out loud the truth if who i am in Christ. I know I need to hear it. You did this in your video. You found the secret of how to handle these thoughts. Your viewers see the real you. Your lovely and mature for your age. You spent a whole summer working towards the furture with your big girl pants. Congradulations! You marched forward. Im rooting for you. 😊

I too have had to deal with loss this summer. My best friend, the best, closest, most trustworthy friend I've ever had, died unexpectedly and without us getting to say goodbye. I didn't find out for a month, even though prior to her death we'd talked every day.. I turned to your videos of Mustangs to help me, because horses always have. I don't have a horse, I don't live where I'd like to, or where I can afford to keep a horse,. So, your videos are one of my ways to feel connected to that world which I would love to be in. So, you can add to your amazingly long list of accomplishments, helping a fellow horse lover overcome the initial shock and pain. And the feeling of being lost and sad thats followed. That's big. Like a tiny Tikkun Olam.

This video was so relatable. Much of how I’ve felt recently (and I only swam once this summer…😫). For the past few years, I’ve worked really hard on starting a wild equine rescue and finally gained 501(c)3 status this year. Even with that huge accomplishment, I’ve felt discouraged a lot. I realized, like you said, that so much of what I’ve done has been work and I’m not really having much fun with my horses. Over the past month, I’ve been trying to “play” more with my horses and get back into other things I enjoy. I am also trying to continue reminding myself that God has everything in control!

You have no idea how much I needed to hear this today. I have also been stuck in the same cycle for years. Summer comes around and I get so excited to work with my horses. I tell all my friend "this is definitely the year I'm going to REALLY start working with them and get them riding" then I blink and summer is gone and I still haven't done anything with them. I get so caught up in just trying to survive the day that I let weeks go by without accomplishing any of my goals. Everything I end up actually doing is just to keep them alive and comfortable and I never get any training done. I get so down on myself for being "lazy" and not making any progress. Thank you for posting this video and reminding me that I'm not alone and other people also struggle with achieving their goals. Thank you ❤️❤️

Sometime back I saw a video or read something, and that person said that instead of ‘to-do’ lists, at the end of every day they wrote a ‘ta-da!’ list of everything they did that day. You accomplished a lot this summer, but because it wasn’t what you planned or maybe wanted to do, you think you haven’t done anything. To myself and everyone I know, this year flew by in a blur. The goal book I should have filled out in January is still empty and whoosh!, it’s already October! But we don’t need to wait until New Years, or any other milestone day to set a goal or take a step forward. We can start any day, and we only do the best we can. Thank you for sharing your journey.

Put this on your "did" list----KICK ASS VIDEOS!!! lol! I loved this beautiful video. It's contemplative, a review, and with awesome shots of the bees in Autumn flowers as well as the beautiful leaf colors against blue skies. I love checking in with your channel, because you're about the same age as my son and daughter-in-law who live in Barre. They both began new jobs at the beginning of the summer, and they've felt overwhelmed at times with all the new training, information, and learning new business skills they've had to do. Not what they went to school for either, these jobs. We only get to see them once or twice a year. Money is tight, travel is expensive, and the world's kind of nuts right now. I ask God daily "What is TODAY about?" Well, mostly it's been about "Maintain Stability" in whatever form that takes. JUST doing that is actually a huge victory. To have the basics covered, to live simply and honestly---these in and of themselves are noble. I think your horses are very lucky. God Bless.

Prepping for anything takes more time then we admit. In my job I daily spend sometimes the whole day prepping if not 2 days, to come in and put a coat of paint or two up in one day then spend another day removing the prep work and putting pieces back in original spots. I know it takes all that to do the job but the real kicker is when someone who doesn't know asks what you did all week. All this to say you and only you really know what you acomplished. Without the prepping the finish ian't worth looking at. ME, I look at all the hay you stored and just looking at it exhausts me, so YES you have done lots. Sure they may be small things but as a whole they are huge. Stay safe. Stay sane. Stay STRONG!

It's okay Britta(Hug)... you are human. Love yourself enough to know you are worth it. You've done more than you know, even though you feel you didn't do everything you wanted to. You're being harder on yourself than you have to be. Your horses know they're LOVED! Your a wonderful horse mom! You've been looking for a home for your family and them!!! That's a big deal! You will get there! Fall riding is lovely too. Sit in nature, look at your babies, and breathe! See the sights, smell the air, and know you still have so much time to do things. There's nothing wrong with what you did, and what you didn't get done. Somedays I have to say to myself: "Just for now"... I will... etc... That just for now statement allows me to handle one thing at a time and give myself the space when I'm depressed. I have seasonal depression as well, and fall hit me hard also... If you need a fellow struggling person to tell you, "It's alright", "You'll be alright"... here I am. Theres always someone lower than you... I for example had to give up my precious horses unwillingly... at least you still have yours. You can still pick up the brushes and groom them, still hug them on your worst days... I long for that, qnd regret so much that lead me to lose mine. I live through you sometimes to get through my day. It's okay and you're going to be alright. ❤

I bought my first horse when I was fifteen and now at seventy three I can tell you the amount of work never ends but you just enjoy it cause you have something to give you back more than what you put into it. my last two horses l had for twenty five years and the last four I didn't ride them, but I was there for them until they were both gone. that was five years ago and I wish I had some corrals and feeders to clean.

This makes me a bit sad. I'm at that point with 2 old horses & getting older myself. I don't ride anymore, but I do enjoy having my horses. All the work taking care of them is good exercise & also good mentally. I fear them or myself getting a health issue, so really try to enjoy each moment. Today I was washing only a part of each & clipping just a section, as I just can't get the energy to do them all anymore. I used to do both horses in one afternoon. Now I'm doing in sections.over several days.

A saying I found useful from Wm. Least Heat Moon: "We are our attentions." When I was depressed this helped me. It means change what you're focused on. You have so much beauty and life around you, good health, a home with horses in the country, a wonderful husband, etc. I think that's what this video was about. Focus on what you love, not what you haven't got or done, and hire help if it'll free you to enjoy life for yourself. And be silly, life's too short. We never get all we want or get done all we think we should, that's life. But you've got so much more than many, many people.
