One thing I can never get over is the intentionality yet deep virtuosity of the Hosanna Music choirs. Listening to these cuts allows me to hear them fully and my goodness!! It boggles the mind😂

What I noticed about this album is that the bass is played on a keyboard by Abraham Laboriel from Let There Be Joy to Jesus Is Alive then switches to a real bass from Lord Youre The One to Redeemed.

Yeah, having chatted to Tom briefly about this, I believe that the bass is completely programmed on keyboard using patches from either the Korg M1/T1 or Wavestation. The fretless sound from 'Lord You're the One' onwards is a very convincing sound.

@@HosannaSounds wonderful! I love the smooth bass honestly. Did Laboriel use an actual real bass on the latter half of the album? It sounds smooth but not synthesized.

@@BBT609 I'm not 100% sure, but from afew conversations, I don't believe Abraham had any involvement in this project, contrary to what some discog’ sites say. It was definitely recorded first in a studio and then the tracks taken to record live with the congregation. BUT I'm totally open to anyone with other information on this as i could be misinformed! I've just managed to isolate the bass on Lord You're the One and you’re right it certainly sounds incredibly convincing that it’s a real bass more than a synth. Who knows my friend!

@@HosannaSounds that’s very interesting! Cause the tapes and the discographies has his name listed as bass but I’ve never seen him play bass on a keyboard…Maybe a hidden talent cause the bass lines on this album were top tier!! 😂 I’m a child of the 90s so I grew up with all of the Integrity Music stuff, particularly Ron Kenoly (my favorite album is God Is Able). But it’s very believable on the half of the album onward with the smooth bass. The mysteries of music!!! Thank you for your posts!!

@@BBT609do you have a tape with his name on? As I'd really love to see it, the ones here in the UK didn't list any of the musicians until around 1992 I think. God is Able is also my favourite, everything about the songs, arrangements, sounds, voices, video etc. I was born early 80's and als grew up with all these, I think my parents started subscribing in about 1987 when Lamb of God came out. Then in the early 90's Don Moen and Ron Kenoly came to the UK for some live concerts which was brilliant for me as a 12 year old!

Can you get some stems for “Revival at Brownsville” with Lindell Cooley?
