When James was making the movie, "Sex Lies, and Video Tape" in my hometown, Baton Rouge, LA I met him at my local supermarket. His smile, gave him away. I recognized him from Pretty in Pink. Certainly, didn't know he was in town, making a movie. He was so gracious and friendly. He is even more warmer and charmer than on camera. Drop dead gorgeous. What a dream to remember. I have been hooked, ever since.

Every movement of the man seems to be just made for the screen. You can't take your eyes off of him. The small motions of his eyes, his hands, his facial expressions, you just HAVE to watch, and every bit of it's mesmerizing. I am sorry to say that I never followed James in any of his life's accomplishments in entertainment until I started watching Blacklist and became mesmerized by his personna appearance the entire package that makes up his superb acting ability. Why he hasn't been nominated for an Emmy for this show alone is beyond me-thank you for this tribute, I will go backwards to research and watch him on his journey living up to today.

I recognized several scenes from Tuff Turf. Not the best movie, but one of my favorite roles for him because he got to play a good guy, but was still a bad boy. He does it with such verve and self-assurance, yet there's a wee shyness / vulnerability there. It's so hard to see 80s Spader while I'm watching The Blacklist. It's like layers and layers of Spader throughout cinema. So much fun to experience.

I have followed James Spader since I saw Pretty in Pink in the cinema in the 80's and he is such a talented actor and I love that he dares taking the quirky characters. This is one of the few actors I would love to meet in real life and have a real talk with as I am sure it could be interesting as he never has fit into the box, just like me ;-) In addition, he is getting more and more sexy as one of the few male actors.

Your tribute is beautiful. Spader was always a costar in the corny 80 s brat pack movies that I watched in my generation. I could never figure out, even in my naive youth, why he wasn’t the lead. He was a beautiful bad guy, entitled rich kid, pimp, etc sexy... but it wasn’t just his looks. There was something right under the skin that made you want to fuck him and fear him at the same time. In his interviews in his youth as well as adult, you can tell he’s painfully brilliant.... unable to explain himself impromptu in real life, yet convinces you he is exactly who he portrays on set. The old acting saying that “ Acting isn’t putting on a mask and becoming someone else, a true actor removes the mask and shows what’s hidden beneath”. Is soo tru to spader. Frighteningly I believe he’s a bit of all he’s portrayed. .... no ... not frighteningly. Intriguingly. I have no more words..
