I'd be fine with the planetary variation now, if they'd just put more shit on them for me to explore. After this, we need remodeling of crashed freighters to work like these, sizeable ruins and derelict planetary outposts, and ass tons more lore, loot, bio horrors and sentinels to contest us going at it.
@frontlinebeats75814 жыл бұрын
@Raghav Mewar People want the planets to be more varied, since right now you can't tell the difference between two planets of the same type
@spencinator16164 жыл бұрын
I believe that a big summer variety/generation update is still coming, and here's why: -This is only a small-medium update, it doesn't match in with everything they've teased in weekend missions etc. -It is a mid july release, not August or later -It released instantly along with the trailer, no hype or waiting or anything. -It hasn't been pinned to the top of Sean Murray's NMS Twitter account like NEXT and Beyond have -It ends with the mysterious static instead of the Atlas "No Man's Sky" ending every update has had And most of all, that static that he posted yesterday we see again at the end of the trailer? I think it is more than one trailer mashed up, and I think it signifies more parts of a whole coming, if you notice a new sound at the end of the static that wasn't there before that sounds like something powering off, I think that signifies the next trailer.
@thtdiinc67394 жыл бұрын
I completely agree with you buddy. That static clip we got yesterday from SM was not from in-game footage from the trailer. There is definitely imagery of landscapes and some huge ship on a planet.I believe a huge update is coming and will be sometime this year. HG even confirmed they have significant updates planned this year.
@lovremarasovic52674 жыл бұрын
I agree with almost everything here, except that this will be the summer update. I think the variety update will release in holiday season and it will be exculsive to PC, PS5 and XSX.
@droopz90iroc4 жыл бұрын
Theory: We will get the variation update, but the new variations are all infested with the Desolation growths and we have to 'cleanse' the new planets to make them nice.
@spencinator16164 жыл бұрын
If you look closely on .25x in the static, playing and pausing, you can find some possibly interesting things. For sure there is weird symbols, reminiscent of portal glyphs or greek letters or something. I also see mashed together in-game images.
@0verride8814 жыл бұрын
I am sorry but I highly doubt any significant variety/generation update of the sort is coming out. Not anything that will necessarily change the experience much. Below are my reasons: 1. Demand for it is not very significant. Every trailer I see, most comments don't care to mention wanting it necessarily. 2. Hello games currently only can do 2 things to improve the value of their game: player engagement, attract new players to the game. More variety/generation is not something that will necessary have that happen. It could turn out to disappoint fans and so forth. In contrast, adding a mech, a new ship etc to farm is more likely to gain traction. 3. The idea of a fully procedurally generated game was sort of spearheaded by Hello games. But they are not necessarily experts at it. If you want an example of good procedural generation, give deep rock galactic a chance. Their caves are definitely a good example of procedural generation. And if they did, which I am happy to proven wrong for, I don't think it will be very pleasant. '4. Moving the goalpost a little bit but, I don't think we are getting a variety update that the playerbase would be *satisfied with* because procedural generation takes time to play around with. It would typically be a trial and error process. It would be very unlikely to get it right in one update. If Hello games' attention was on generation, they would have been focusing on it since say about 1-2 years ago at least. '5. There is a limit to how good Hello games can make a variety/generation based on *player feedback alone* .Hello games improves their game all the time, so when they leave an update alone for a while, it is likely that they *believe* it to be adequate and not in need of any further attention. Take the Abyss update for example. Was that update anything significant that players deal with? A slow submarine in water bodies that are not even close to being deep?Yet they left it as is. I think they didn't really change much about it simply because the playerbase did not really care to talk about improvements to it. Or, perhaps Hello games didn't listen to that feedback (might be unlikely)? I am very certain planet generation would not be significantly improved simply because the playerbase might not have the answer to what they want with that regard. Not frequently. Sure some people might mention recommendations passing by, but I doubt there will be any consensus as to what everyone would like to see as a new added biome. '6. Hello games just adding new biomes is definitely not going to improve the groundplay aspect of this game, if that is what some people are looking for improvement in. You guys already have bubble planets and so forth. I don't remember it changing the gameplay loop on planets much. '7. Having new cool stuff to look at loses its charm very quickly, there should be interactive features to the exploration aspect to make that enjoyable. As of right now, unless I am mistaken, the only reason to scan animals is for nanites, and some credits. The quests for creature scanning in the hub iirc are simply scanning for carnivorous/aggressive animals/ plants etc. I think the lack in variety of animal scanning missions is an admission in and of itself. It screams *our animals are not that important* . I think the only way to make an enjoyable groundplay experience, which I presume why some people desire a summer variety/generation update, is to link many of the already present elements of the game that have anything to do with exploration with actual exploration first, and add incentives (rewards accordingly). For example: 1. Exploration frigates are just a thing you send to a system (or planet I forget), to return later on and give some rewards. They do nothing to help you explore actual planets. 2. Some creatures have interesting behavioural *descriptions* , like drinking blood. But they don't do any of that. They should make stuff like that an observable reality. Then, they could add some new stuff in there, like: 1. Giant creatures that one-shot you on foot. 2. Ecological problems such as populations dying, one species dominating etc 3. Researchers in space stations wanting you to find a specific type of creature that lives in some specified conditions (cold planet, near water for eg) And all this would have to be linked to create a holistic experience. Unfortunately, the past few updates for the last 2 years or so have not had anything like that in mind. Either no variety/generation update is coming, or one is, and it is very unlikely to be an in depth experience. The pattern I am seeing with these past updates has been, here is a new thing, grind for it. Make no mistake I am grateful that Hello games is creating free updates, and I am certainly glad that they stuck to this game, and have treated the playerbase better than most others as of the recent years. But at the end of the day, the No man's sky experience we have right now, feels final. It is unlikely to change to something different at any point. It has been the same experience for the past 2-3 years, and I do not think anything would really change with a variety update. My recommendation: If you want a game with animals that poop, drink water and sleep, try out Monster Hunter World, or Planet Zoo.

HelloGames deserve so so much Kudos and Respect for continuing to work on NMS and turn it around from possibly the biggest let down and over hyped launch in recent history into the game that was promised and then expanded upon without a paywall DLC or Microtransaction in sight. Well done guys, seriously well done :)

Please Hello Games: Add missions with bosses, a level system, really dangerous planets, nice phenomena such as thunder storm, hurricanes and tonados, tsunami and meteor shower. These things could happen randomly, puting us in an alert level of danger and thrill. There should be gas giant planets, allowing us to craft rare items. There should be planets that could never be visited if you dont have the necessary weaponry, because they would be heavely protected by aliens. And if you find a planet that you call it yours, you could also protect them with giant planetary weaponry. You could also terraform them.

Dude!!! This is exactly what I thought would be cool for No Man's Sky! Not only exploring the vastness of space, but exploring a broken down freighter ship! And to have it be in a spooky atmosphere is just AWESOME! I can't wait to get on the game and see what this new update really has in store for me, lol! Also this honestly has this kind of Alien Isolation sort of vibe from this trailer here ngl. Anyways this is some more new EPIC CONTENT you've pushed out HelloGames! Keep up the AWESOME WORK!!!

If I can face tank a walker, I can deal with anything that comes out of a spooky a$$ ship.

I still cannot take down a walker; combat is not my desired way to play the game. I wonder what this will be like.
@liamalexander17974 жыл бұрын
@@a2brute my main struggle was the extreme clunkiness of combat. Hoping this update improves it as much as they said, because while NMS isnt about combat, locking resources behind it calls for polish on that feature. Really looking forward to playing, super pumped

How many personal armor upgrades do you have? I needed two to even have a chance against a walker...

These freighter "dungeons" are cool idea, hopefully they could implement something similar with the caves systems on planets.

I wish the whole planet doesn't look the same way. If we have diffrent continents on Earth then some planets in game should have to.

As soon as I found an abandoned space station a while ago I new they had more plans for horror elements within the game that space station made my skin crawl got out of there as soon as I could.

Yay! Finally another incitation to play NMS again. 😀 BTW somehow I was waiting to see Portal 2 turrets around the corner. LOL

I think it's the sounds those little aliens make - they sound a lot like the turret/cube hybrids that Wheatley made in the final act of Portal 2

This is a good game. I’m pretty sure their business model is to sell more copies over time, because they keep updating it, and they’re not charging for dlc content. This has ridiculous potential. Do check it out. I’m a huge sci-fi fan. So this is right up my alley.

Yet another update to add depth and additional customizations to the game. Excellent! It's incredibly how much love they've poured into this game over time. I'm glad they didn't give up on it and I'm always glad when I see a new update is available, which to be honest, I usually wouldn't bat an eyelash at. Most game updates don't have this much cool stuff.

I honestly think that No man sky is a $60 game. I got to say. I respect that even though people hated the hell out of the game, the developers still tried their best to improve the game. Off topic, I recommend to watch Internet Historian video on No man Sky

The best part about NMS updates is all the stuff not in the trailer. They improved a ton of other things and you should all check them out on their website.
