lol and after a bit of testing last 2 days I was told that other players get a different pool of possible ships to pull from in a system than you do, now I don't know what up and down is. . . great.

I theorised it might be tied to per crash site, so I reloaded for quite a while in a single planet system, noting them until I got some duplicates to confirm it's specific to crash site, then confirmed it's the same on the nth ship by doing it with an egg until it matched a previous find. Then had some comrades do it as well, and the first one the PS4 player found was one I'd already found, at the same coordinates etc. I don't see how it couldn't be this at this point. Due to how it's been handled on the Reddit I was very dubious about releasing until I was absolutely certain

@@XainesWorld I was testing in a system with 4 or 5 planets but the egg would always send me to the same planet, after 50+ reload, always the same planet, no matter what system I tried it was the same way. Never bothered to take note of the crash site location as the egg randomly chooses that for you and directs you to it so I kinda didn't see much point to note what ship was at what location or if a given crash site location was consistently the same ship. but I can confirm that if you find a ship that you like and pry to the RNG gods, you will see that very same ship again after a random number of reloads. I also wonder how large of a pool the system pulls from is, and if it is affected by how many planets are in that system.

sorry to barge in on the conversation but I've been having an issue with a void egg that is stuck in the active phase and it's looking for a planet but isn't showing the system. I've searched around and can't find any one who has any info. So thought I'd ask you. I've tried going through a black hole, just tried a portal (which by the way got me 5 upgrades in about 20 minutes so thank you love you), pulsing around after both. With this egg though, I've already completed the starbirth mission and I can't remember if I was given this egg, or because of this it might have been accidentally duped during the quest.

CC Lewis you will have to go to the quicksilver guy and he will give you for 3200 of quicksilver the void egg, then you will have to track down a bunch of coordinates and wait some days between, than you go to a portal, the gliphs are in pretty mutch every tutorial follow MORE 3 coordinates then you get trough the portal again, than they will give you a point of interest saying "the host" and then it's just go there and there it is! you now have a new living ship, the portal will be activated in euculid and you will have to get all the 16 glyphs

I found a bug that give free eggs. Simply do the quest while the only egg is on another ship. The space encounter will still activate and you will be given an egg. For free.

I really don't understand whats being said here. Im not sure if I'm just being slow, but how are you getting different crash sites on every reload? I've watched the video like 10 times I've even read the website and still am not understanding this one bit. Basically there is a living ship on the coordinate exchange without coordinates listed and I'm trying to locate it. I've come to the ships planet through glifs, but every reload it keeps taking me to the exact same crash site. I don't think I'm missing a step unless it is vital to contact the ship within the same system, basically I started the quest in another system, traveled to the system with desired ship, and began reloading my hard save I made at the portal. If anyone could spare a second to help I'd greatly appreciate it.

Anybody else having a problem with their living ship changing skins/colors? I find one thats gold, port to my home planet its blue then go to the nexus it turns white. After leaving my home base it stays blue as long as I dont go to the nexus, if I go to nexus it turns white and stays stuck that color.

a planet atmosphere can change the colors of the game there is some planets that monochrome the colors or mix with the original colors to make the mix of those colors (EI: red + blue= purple) till you leave of course. most likely your ship is white and is taking the color of the planet's atmosphere

@Xaine's World I'm currently experimenting with the theory that there are "zones" in a multi-planet system, that dictates which *planet* the crash site will actually be loaded on, without the need to enter a specific portal address for that planet, in the same system. I started by initialising the starbirth mission at the SS (landing pad), and reloading, till it bugs to the normal ship pool. I then began calling in my freighter, to experiment with various fixed points in the system, using the same idea; just loading till it bugged, then moving on. My current method involves positioning my freighter about 1 million units away from a planet, as if I'm on the outside edge of the system, looking in; the planet in question, being the closest in proximity to me. What I've found, is using this method, I can control which planet it sends me to, just not an exact crash site. I'm not sure about the exact geometry of the systems. Though, it seems like it's set up in "sectors"; not dissimilar to how it is when exploring the galaxy. Have you heard anything about this mechanic?? 🤔🚀

I think its not worth it right now to hunt for the perfect ship because i did that until i found this beauty red and black ship with yellow undertones, fucking made me yell yeehaw! she was so pretty but after just flying around and then going to base and saving the game to go sleep i came back next morning to find that now my ship was colored in this ugly ass pink with just white lights... the shape, stats and inventory still the same but the colors gone bro... not only that but the starbirth mission started up again and it pointed me in my own planet to another ship, a green vomit color one... what a damn kick in the nuts and my og ship has stayed pink since btw this was after the first hotfix thing? for the update, idk if that had anything to do with that but yeah so i wouldn't go out hunting for these cuz they still seem stupid bugged like fuck man haven't played much since and i dont really feel like anymore after that...

I somehow managed to duplicate the living ship I was given. I had made an autosave at a later time, and while trying to do the exocraft dupe glitch I accidentally reloaded my manual save from getting a living ship. I spawned next to my living ship and was told to find the fallen host. I was confused and amazed to find the same ship sitting where I had found it before and totally for free. Idk if this can help/ or is interesting to anyone, but i thought I'd share. Love your videos btw!

This method of portal travel to obtain the ship also works with the Egg and 10,000 Nanites, as pulsing when through a portal will initiate the hailing from the rogue alien ship. Note:"as pulsing when through a portal" means must portal to a planet then pulse away from it or at least that's how I understood it both when I heard it as well as when I read it as copied above. Note if you get to a crash sight & only see a normal ship there inspect it then decline and it will "Presto Chango" to a living ship you can take or decline. (This saved me a lot of reload time on my btw :-)

Hey Xaine what's up? One thing I noticed (maybe you can confirm it) is that the colour schemes of the living ships are tied to the planet it spawns in... I'm saying this because I ended up getting a purple/yellow one (ugly as hell btw) in a lush planet that had the same colours. And if it spawns in a different planet, it ends up getting the colour of that place. Keep up the good work!

It's the system colour, you can see what colour via the bubble tubes by the nexus landing pads. Though it's not a 100% thing, it's just very regular

Does the 2nd ship chance actually spawn after you go through portals? I've been living ship hunting for 14 days and I have been rarely able to get a random space encounter to spawn after going through a portal, and if they do, they seem to always be either a desolate freighter or a trade ship (I've gotten to the point where I've started killing the trade ships as sacrifices to the RNG gods).

I love your video's and have viewed all of them. But your narration to the Nth degree which is fine for die hard veteran player's is a bit hard to follow by one such as myself. Don't know if it's possible, but toning down on all the varieties and possibilities one could do and staying on point would really help us boobies. I generally can only get about half of what your explaining and in the process I get lost. But there's always the ability to review it a second, third etc. time.

Everyone mustve really been bored if this is the new thing capturing everyones attention lol. I got mine, parked it in my frieghter, and went right back to my exotic ship thats maxed. I must be about the only one i guess who just accepts what i get, i dont abuse reloads or glitches. Im sure that 10,000 nanites will get nerfed also down to damn near free. Even though ive got over 150,000 right now, never abusing a save or glitch once. I treat games as real life i guess. In the real world you wouldnt be reloading yourself a hundred times to get that perfect module, instead of just saving up and earning it. Think thats why all you guys get bored so fast. Wish there was a channel that covered this game that is all for it and whats in it. Instead of all these channels exposing bullshit or asking what everyone wants in the next update.

Think you have a warped view on it. You mention just saving up for it and earning it. Not seeing how that applies here, I'm not recommending people dupe an egg or save edit units and nanites or anything like that, there is no way to get the exact ship you want purely through saving up a currency. Also, tad insulting to my channel considering I have never showed a duping glitch, never showed the hybrid ship exploit or many other things that are responsible for people getting bored with the game due to getting everything for free with no or minimal effort

I didnt develope the game, so my opinions do not matter. I just speak my mind like everyone else. Everyone else though is so anxious for some bs workaround, whereas i just accept what i get from the draw. They made no mans sky to last forever, the way you collect and refine stuff and craft stuff. Just seems to me no one play legitimately anymore. But guess ill stay off your channel too now lol, im about runnin out of good no mans sky content creators. @@skotwilt I just felt you had the wrong idea about my channel. I largely agree with you, it's why i specifically don't cover exploits (im taking duping etc, while reloading is an exploit, you are still putting in major time investments to achieve something that could not be achieved in another way, so i deem it ok) even though exploit and dupe videos do incredibly well and from a business stand point, i'm being an idiot to not do them. I'm well known for being anti dupe and playing legit and vanilla in my saves. People do play legitimately, the majority of players who have stuck with the game consistently through the years do, I have over 2000 hours in the game and still love playing it. Also pride myself on being objective when it comes to criticism of the game, and agree that too many people shit on it for views. I get the frustration, it can seem like just everyone wants the easy way, but there are a bunch of us who like to earn it still around

I wont be so quick to just reply my thoughts on your vids anymore, or anyones for that matter. Dodgy Steve, welcome back indeed, I picked up the game about august of 2019 on xbox one (so I didn't get to witness the game supposedly suck the big one at release) and so far have almost 490 hours in, and I'm still playing daily, usually 3-10 hours a day, though my state is under quarantine so I've been playing close to 10 hours lately. If you're lucky, maybe you can get the misses and kids playing it

I started a couple of days ago, I was in my ship, recently fixed and full of interesting material when I found a crashed ship, I agreed to add it to my ships and I left the game on pause for a while, when I returned my xbox was off because after a while without use it turns off by itself, and when I reconnected the game my character was next to the crashed ship but my other ship had disappeared with all my things !!!!! I can't believe it ... Can someone tell me if I've lost everything ???? I have not found any freighter yet, because I have read that when that happens it appears on the freighter ....... what happened? What I can do???? I had been improving it for 15 hours .... please help

how i do it in sep. 2022: if you want a second living ship, have a void egg in inventory and activate an "anomaly detector" (get it by shooting meteors). Save before activating it and you can restart everytime you dont like the living ship.

I have just restarted the mission by going to my system where i have the Base and gone back to the system where the Birth ission is so that the ission be restarted then back to home base and saved with manual save then i have log in like 10 times each times i was getting in my ship it was asking me to go to the same planet in my system but diferent laces and diferent ship with diferent color combination until the 10 or 11 times i stoped at one that i was searching for.

Hi, great work on this. But! "This method of portal travel to obtain the ship also works with the Egg and 10,000 Nanites, as pulsing when through a portal will initiate the hailing from the rogue alien ship." - this does NOT work (anymore? perhaps it has been patched): player does not get hailed by the rogue alien ship while under portal interference. I dunno if I'm just (un)lucky, but over 2 hours of reloads, after resetting the quest on the desired planet, I can only get the one living ship to spawn at the exact same coordinates. I.e. no other ship locations are occurring, they all bring me to the same spot, no other. Do I just need to reject it and try pulsing again, or keep reloading, and it might let me find a different ship?

so after i came back through the portal i made a manual save in front of that portal. now i am reloading that manual save, going through the portal again to the system with my favourite ship i found in the database and than getting into my spaceship to activate the quest right? and than i have to hope for that one spot where that living ship i want spawns? when i go to the questmarker many times there is a regular ship instead of a living ship, why is that? am i doing something wrong?

I have been looking for a reply on some very specific questions on alien ships but I haven't been bale to gather info. If you can reply I would appreciate it: a) If you already have an alien ship, have been flying around with it, it's a part of your normal fleet etc. and want to discard it, how can you do that since the "scrap" option does not work? b) If you buy a new egg and want to see a few different designs before you end up on one you like, after rejecting the new ship, do you have to reload a manual save or can you just keep on warping and pulse-driving before you get a new notification?
