The game with infinite content... and I couldn't wait for it to be over.

For someone who personally tried N.M.S... I'll disagree and that's it. Unlike other fruitcakes that just can't take a personal opinion. Sure, the game was ridiculously disappointing at launch, if not almost the biggest disappointment in history for many. But the fact that Hello Games keep updating it... I actually praise them for that. I personally enjoy the game for what it is. I didn't expect much from it, and that's just me. The launch of the game though was horrendous, mainly thanks to Sony. But since its launch, it improved massively in my opinion and I applaud the devs for that. Still needs cookin' , but I'll just wait to see what comes next. What really frustrates me Jadow is not the fact that you have an opinion and the right to express that opinion, but because so many people just can't accept it. While I disagree with your opinion on No Man's Sky, I respect it and move on. Just don't give haters and trolls attention. Not worth it. Keep up the good work. And maybe (if Air Control didn't affect your sanity too much) give Hunt Down the Freeman a shot. Or Ghostbusters 2016. H.D.T.F will surely make you vomit your guts.

Darklordjadow1 honestly its not even that i disagree! if anything a lot of the things brought up are things i believe, and although the commentary on first impressions (esp the feature of gamebreaking bugs) isnt representative of the current state of the game i can understand why it was included - a game only has one chance to introduce themselves and when it's a buggy laggy mess which completely breaks on occasion it doesnt set very good expectations, and frankly i had the same experience upon release i understand we have different preferences towards games however. while i personally enjoy the slow movement the gameplay loop seems to encourage, just walking along and experiencing the environments, i can totally see how that would bore some people with different tastes, and considering how the gameplay was billed to be an exciting immersive experience full of action and wonder and etc etc, i can also see why people might feel betrayed by HG through their questionably deceptive advertising and press coverage, going as far as to think they intentionally deceived the public, although i dont see this myself in the end, NMS is an incredibly flawed game with a troubled history, and your enjoyment of it after looking over the pros, cons and inbetweens comes down to taste. i feel its important to recognise that when discussing criticism, as being blind to something's flaws just ends up with a lot of misinformation and incompetence going around and that aint what im all about personally

Never really liked sandbox games that provide little to no story and expect you to just fool around an empty world. Probably the only exception is Garry's Mod, but at least you can download a bunch of stuff that lets you fool around in generally any way you want.

No Man's Sky is the epitome of what's wrong with Open-world games these days. Devs focus more on making the game worlds massive but forget to put content in it. I doesn't matter how big the game world is, there's no point to exploring it if there's nothing worth finding.

The number of bellends downvoting this video--probably at least 50% sock puppet accounts--is almost funny if it weren't pathetic of them. Let's fuckin' face it, even with No Man's Sky NEXT looking surprisingly intriguing, its only truly notable script-flip is the third-person switch, and I sincerely doubt NEXT would have even had a tenth the publicity it does if it wasn't for the initial product being the way it was and the subsequent updates doing so little. This ain't looking like the redemption story of FFXIV, just another case of not bothering to delay what needed it like Street Fighter V.

Words that turn me off of a game immediately: "procedural generation" unless it's a roguelike - aka the devs were too lazy to make up a world, lore, characters, or anything coherent and just hope their little engine makes up some bs. "live service" - meaning it's an unfinished game they want to patch for 10 years to make it have the content singleplayer games have at the beginning. "Cinematic" - meaning the devs didn't know to make the game a good length and just put in cutscenes and QTEs because it's easier to make a shitty movie than a good game. And anything regarding monetization, pre-ordering or exclusivity. Usually means they just try to wring out as much money as possible from the gaming fanbase, not that they put in effort to make a good game.

If you want better games in this genre, you can get Spore or "Empyrion - Galactic Survival". Or play more Metroid (Prime games especially), Star Fox or Rogue Squadron. Hell, I would even watch gladly a let's play of Aria of Sorrow, that game is genius.

Touted as having infinite content, a game you can play forever... and somehow it's emptier then Channel Awesome is right now. That is impressive. And the whole thing being a computer simulation? So, everything that you do in the game is completely, utterly pointless? So, this is basically a bad episode of Black Mirror. I've probably suggested it before, but you should play and review Hitman 2016. It's smaller, yet has FAR more content then this ball of... nothing.

It's not realistic for there to be nothing! Edit for the ending: Oh dear god. I pray for your soul for mercy, because while I have not played that abomination (where some lawmakers in the US are actually pushing to have microtransactions be labeled as simulated gambling, look it up, it's true! and it will happen if there is a repeat of that game with money-grabbing that bad! When Noah Gervais reviewed One Man's Lie, he said the game should be much harder on the procedural generation and sometimes make the game flat out unwinnable like FTL: Faster Than Light if One Man's Lie wanted to embrace the spirit of frontier exploration. I don't think having the game spontaneously teleport player to a planet away from the quest location was what he meant. On a serious note, I suggest you give Starbound a try. It's like a 2D pixel version of No Man's Sky... except it's actually good. Well... it's actually good when you bling it up with must have mods like Frackin' Universe and RPG Growth.

To each their own of course. Starbound has some major problems (my biggest problem is it runs like hot garbage even though it uses pixel graphic), but I still enjoy the overall experience. And even with all its flaws I still think it's better than One Man's Lie because it's an actual game, not a glorified rock picking simulator.

Holy shit, you got somewhat two times more dislikes than likes?! But in all seriousness, I find nothing wrong with your review on NMS. You clarified what happened after all these updates and explained why they worth jack shit when the base game itself didn't deliver and even then aren't sufficient. I have never picked up No Man's Sky (and I will never), but to me, this game tries to advertise themselves as 'Minecraft set in space with everything already there by launch'. That there is already warning signs. The game made itself bigger than it actually is and since it's far easier to claim something than actually have something nowadays, it basically set itself up like that before launch, so now people will expect the game to be that from the get go. And what happened? A massive disappointment. Buggy on launch, less than 10% of the promised content actually there and it feels like it's Minecraft Indev (yes Indev, basically Pre-Alpha). Sure those updates attempt to get the promised contents in, but you know you already bittered people's tongues. Even looking at the game, the gameplay itself is clunky, dull and more akin to First Person Space Camp than actually being Minecraft at the latest update in 2016. Advertising like that is a quick way to make the game and the developers look like a fool and fail since people don't take kindly with things advertising more than they actually do. As for the updates, they're nice but they won't help you get out of the gutter. In modern world, actually, in all of history, it's far harder to climb a ladder than fall down a ladder and that's what No Man's Sky is dealing with. The devs and the game's reputation have soured so hard that it will take years to even get back to pre-announcement level. While they didn't soured to Digital Homicide reputation, it's still very low and now no one will trust the devs and the game itself to deliver something good. So yeah, people that defend this game often overlook the overall picture of how much of a disaster No Man Sky did to itself and to the developers that made this game. The updates won't save the game since its reputation has gone and no one will bat an eye. These defenders need an eye opener

Seeing all the dislikes, all I see are people clining onto an overhauled game that is still undercooked to this day. I commend Hello Games for not running, but this game should have been actually finished by day one. The game sucks right now quit defending it

I've not played this game yet. But it seems freakin awesome. I'm looking for a game that I can play for years to come and that will be updated a long the way. This seems like it could be it. I'm basically looking for an alternative to Minecraft with better graphics, combat and base building with a survival element. Any suggestions?

Endless content doesn't matter much if the content is shallow. That's the case with No Man's Sky.

elin111 Oh it's obvious that they don't actually watch it. Got a lot of comments complaining I only reviewed the launch version- which anybody who watched for longer than 2 minutes would know is false- and that's exactly what it says on the Reddit post.

You want to play a game like this that actually has fun content? I've put over 100 hours into "Elite Dangerous" after getting it during an Xbox One sale. It's much more fun than "No Man's Sky". 👍

Stephen Whitford I usually go to Super Smash Brothers if I've got nothing going on for a little bit. Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes is the closest I have to a time sink- doesn't eat up much time to login and do the daily activities.

I think this game is worse than Ride to Hell: Retribution. For as broken and off-putting that game was, at least it got a reaction out of me. I felt nothing about No Man's Sky other than disinterest and boredom.

I thought everything you said was perfectly reasonable and being someone who played the game extensively, I agree with pretty much everything. There is a chill element to it, everybody plays games for different reasons. How people can get that heated about a game meant to calm you down is beyond me. Love your channel by the way, I started my own KZbin recently because of your stuff. :3
