@@MatthewCenance It's not that he doesn't it's more that this game doesn't do much to help that claim. He's a character that fits an antagonist role for Frodo and Sam and Bilbo in the prequel book. But he's a side character that fits best when he's working off of others.

I played this game myself and it was terrible. It's like a dumb down, drunk, washed out version of Uncharted with the fun things that make it a game. It's like they made the game, took one second of looking before saying it was fine, sucked out all the fun with a vacuum cleaner, packaged it, and sent it out. You know what's the best stealth game set in a medieval fantasy setting in my opinion? Styx: Master of Shadows or even the newest one, Styx: Shards of Darkness. Both games are way better in every single way, shape, and form. However, fair warning, these two games are insanely hard, unforgiving, but hilarious if you die. If you haven't played them, I highly recommend you try it.

​@@Darklordjadow1Alright the Mrs Freeze DLC is now out and this will come as no surprise it's exactly the same as the Joker DLC everything is the same including buying Mrs Freeze early with real world money and also all the enemies are balanced around the new weapons so all the Joker DLC gear is outdated but here are some differences now it's easier to level up in the game and I think it now only takes about 3 hours to fully get to level 30 in the season and this time around there's 2 separate missions that you can do once you reach around level 25 to unlock Freeze and that's pretty much it

A bit of a hot take: I don't think a 3D platformer game centered around the Lord of the Rings universe could work imo. Heck, some people back in the 4th & 5th console generation thought that a 3D Bomberman platformer is a dumb idea. Except when Hudson Soft tried it via Bomberman Hero on N64, it ended-up becoming 1 of the beloved 3D platformers from a beloved video game IP

I’d just like to point out that despite Aragorn being the reason Gollum was imprisoned by the Elves in Lord of the Rings’ canon… he doesn’t even get a mention in this game. They spent so much time on their OC fanfic that they omitted a vital character from the story!

Man Gollum is really agile for a half starved little gremlin who spend literal centuries in a cave eating nothing but raw fish and the occasional goblin. Seriously the existence of this game baffles me to my core. Of all characters, Gollum the most pathetic one in the series, the one who tries to destroy the friendship of Sam and Frodo and dies because his obsession overcame him?

I can confirm that Miles is absolutely correct about Gollum's story in this game. It's frankly bizarre that this is the game that was chosen to make. It comes across as someone's fanfic being incorporated in a game where the mechanics tried to borrow from better games but without understanding how to incorporate the mechanics well.

This is really a game born out of a corporate meeting instead of artistic vision, because it targets the LotR superfan, the one that's deeply interested in the world (this is the only reason why they added a dub in the elf languages), so seeing it from a non-fan perspective just makes it obvious how it's a very limited game

Having watched someone play through the entire through a live stream because I enjoyed watching the suffering. I imagine that you died a lot in the game mainly because of how bad the controls are or just simply not knowing where to go or what to do since the game doesn't show the way very well. Having to listen to that dialogue a 1000 times throughout the game must have really been pure agony.

I don't necessarily believe that the idea was doomed from the start. Having Gollum as a platforming character doesn't really make much sense, but I do enjoy Prince of Persia/Uncharted styles of platforming, so if they pulled that off, then it may have still been fun. Clearly, though all the things holding the studio back practically guaranteed that it wasn't going to be pulled off well, even if they weren't so ambitious. Having him as the protagonist is also something I don't think is doomed from the start. Unlikeable as he may be, he is at least a pitiable character (when portrayed correctly). If there were a decent string of other characters for him to play off of, the dual personalities of Smeagol and Gollum could have worked really well. Alone, even if the voice work were better, he's just too broken and angry a person to carry a story by himself, and the side characters seem pretty abysmal in this game, too. Take the ending. He can't open the mines of Moria because he doesn't know the password. The password is "mellon", the Elvish word for "friend". The idea being that no one would have expected the Dwarves to have such a password given their dislike for the Elves. Gollum can't open the door because he doesn't know what a friend even is at this point. It would feel like a good metaphor if it weren't for the fact that it comes at the end of a disjointed story that, at the very least, certainly hammered in the fact that he doesn't know how to appreciate friendship or camaraderie anymore. It doesn't feel poetic or tragic, it just feels like they had no idea where to take the character, and it comes off more like "Yeah, we get it alrea-WAIT that's it?!!" Decent execution can turn a concept from something nobody asked for into something nobody knew they wanted. I, like other JRPG fans, enjoyed Persona 4. None of us asked for the Dancing All Night rhythm games to be made, but the good motion capture performances coupled with some excellent remixes of some of the best music from the game, along with a decent easy-to-learn gameplay loop made it something a lot of Persona fans like. Return of the King is my personal favorite movie of all time, and it's sad to see the IP get such a treatment. With Serkis' attempt at a Gollum movie, I certainly hope this game doesn't end up being the Sonic '06 of the franchise, a turning point where nothing good comes from the IP anymore.

You really need to watch The Lord of the Rings movies.They are 10 out of 10 centimetic masterpieces.Peter jackson understood the source material and it was made by people who have actually read the books. But my goodness , golum is , without a doubt , the worst Lord of the rings game that I have ever played , especially coming from a die hard Tolkien fan And as a die hard lord of the rings fan. If you really do want to play a More superior load of the rings game.I really do recommend a few of them like lego lord of the rings, Lord of the rings the third age, Both, the two towers and the return of the king video games, Or even the shadow of mordor games. Those Lord of the Rings games.I did mention.Are ten times better leagues better than what the gollum game offer.
