Spent a while (returning player) putting together a cool rifle for the expedition, but the game had already given me enough tech and enhancements by the time I reached the anomaly, that my new multitool was looking better than my main save's.

This Expedition in particular gives you a really fantastic multitool setup for combat. But this Expedition does force you to fly in a hauler that handles like a soapbox car with butter for wheels, and it starts with a small hyperdrive range too. You can really cut down on travel time by bringing your advanced ship for this one.

@@seriousleesgaming3042...If you have an advanced ship... as a new player the biggest problem I have with this game is the fact that new players can't unlock *any* of the dozens of previous rewards from past expeditions. I can understand not having access to legacy content, but treating expedition rewards as legacy content is just wrong. Makes me feel like I spent 60$ for a battle pass.

@@TornaitSuperBird I don't disagree, I really wish we could run any Expedition whenever we want! But consider that most Expedition rewards are only aesthetically valuable. Sentinel Interceptor starships are vastly better than any of the reward ships, and any S-class fighter is better than the Golden Vector as an example, because the Expedition ships have baseline stats, and RNG ships get RNG bonuses.

They have fixed the "Inventory full" error, but it is normally there for the first few days of a new Expedition. Getting your ship and your Multi-tool is a given as long as you have the nanites to pay for them so, I suggest 1 stack of 10 Larval Cores that you will have to dupe to get Nanites fast without farming them. If you really want to do it without duping, enjoy farming those Larval Cores but they are the Fastest nanite making item in the Portable refiner. The other think I bring is a stack of 10 Memory Fragment (Inventory) and I dupe those to fill up the ship, exosuit, and Multitool inventories.

I definitely prefer not to dupe anything. That's why I'll take packets over refining for nanites. It's also a lot faster to open packets and sell modules than refine unless you only want a couple hundred nanites total. Might only take 3 seconds to refine those stacks, but they only stack to 10. Getting 5000 nanites from refining means manually filling that refiner 20 times. And you also have to burn like... 10 whole carbon! lol

@@seriousleesgaming3042 If you don't like duping I can respect that, but after I refine 4000 nanites worth without removing the nanites I can then dupe the last stack of Cores along with the nanites and the carbon used for refining the cores to get 40K nanites total. It is fast and efficient, but like I said , I can respect you not wanting to dupe.

Great tips. I always bring 6 frigate salvage modules, 10 fusion ignitors and get the freighter teleporter up ASAP. Modules for the jetpack , hazard protection and life support are super useful. Why a freighter / 3 slot refining and storage is instantly available :). Fly around and pick a freighter with somme plants growing aboard, class is of no relevance in an expedition.

One thing about duping in the Portable refiner I forgot to mention is that you can dupe nanites if you leave them in there and suddenly your stack of 10 Larval cores is 35k Nanites. I will be hurting the day they decide to fix that Portable refiner.

Uranium works in place of launch fuel. I have rarely used launch fuel, mostly just to get it out of my inventory.

Oh I'm the same, but bringing them into Expeditions is a good way to clear your main inventory of the ones you get from missions and such.

that's my Hyperdrive. it looks weird and has a weird name because this is an Expedition 3 starship, which has alternate technology for engines and launch thrusters.

@@username.exenotfound2943 Yes, it's significantly improved over a standard ship, statistics wise. It has a shorter maximum hyperdrive range than a Sentinel Interceptor, but longer than any other standard ship. Also has higher maneuverability than standard ships. Mechanically I'd suggest an Interceptor is better, as it can hover too. Keep in mind each save can have up to 12 starships, so you can upgrade to a new ship and still have your original ship as a trophy to display in your freighter hangar.

The first couple, I enjoyed starting over and getting some random ship and making the best of it. The mission rewards in Liquidators helped you ramp up fairly quickly, and Aquarius it didn't really matter, but man, expedition 16 rewards sucked! If you are doing 16 you may want to follow the above! It was kind of a slap in the face the junk you would get from missions and then your multi-tool didn't get any levels, you were just crunched for slots in everything! 16 really made you run around in way that, despite the cool theme and more challenging baddies, was not as fun.

I got really lucky with a game bug in Expedition 16 that gave me the multitool layout of the save I had used last. It didn't get any extra slots, but I had 4 super charged slots showing. I'm not sure how to recreate that bug, all I did was boot up the game and start a new save. But this is a sure way to get a good ship and multitool for the Expedition, bring them with you on an established save!

Great video Lee. I do have a question. You were talking about bringing ship cargo upgrades and MT upgrades. If I bring my ship and multi tool from my advance save, will I need those ship cargo upgrades or mt upgrades? Thanks so much. I finished the last expedition, but not on an exisiting save, so this will be helpful.

If your ship and MT already have the slots, the Expedition copy will have the same amount of slots and same tech in those slots. No worries there. It won't copy the starship cargo inventory though. The caveat is that the more slots a ship or MT have, the more nanites they cost to unlock during the Expedition. Still shouldn't cost too much more than 6k nanites for both, but I've never tried to bring a 60 slot multitool before so I'm no sure. Max slot ship and 30 slot tool cost me 5k. Exosuit expansion slots are useful though, especially if you're also bringing Technology to install.

Thanks for the Sub! Looks like (had to look it up lol) it's from Expedition 5, and it might have been available from a redux as well. I recommend making a Twitch account to watch people play when a big new update comes out, as Twitch drops sometimes include old Customizations. Also... rumor mill is hopeful we will get to pick and choose old Expeditions to run whenever we want some day, but that is not confirmed.

Yes, that's the main issue. This is a method to let us know where we missed which items from, not a method to get them, sadly. We need to ask Hello Games to let us run old Expeditions.

How do you get the poncho

The short answer is: Autophage Terminals for Void Motes. Long answer: 1. Finish the main story mission: The Purge. 2. Go to a Dissonant planet, find an Echo Base Camp, and unlock terminal there. 3. Warp to a new star system. 4. Receive a hail on your starship communicator. that's how you start the Autophage missions, when you finish them you can buy customization options from their terminals.

I've been told by several ppl that bringing an existing save into an expedition is very risky bc it could bug out your existing save. Is it or have they fixed that?

This is not a new feature. The current expedition is the 3rd expedition with the ability to use existing saves to start them, and I tested it on my biggest save with the Omega Expedition when it first came out, I've run all 9 of my existing end-game saves through the Adrift Expedition and 3 of them through the current Liquidators Expedition and had exactly zero problems. Of all the other players I personally know who have used this feature, none have had problems. Exactly what issues are these people having, or are these just rumors?

Poncho comes from the Autophage (robot species) terminals. To get to them you need to have a fairly end-game save. You need to have started the final set of missions for the main game story, The Purge. You need to have a settlement and have started the Taste of Metal mission, and I think perhaps also the pirate mission. If you've completed all the main game story missions, simply warping to a new system in space should have the Autophage missions start by them trying to hijack your ship remotely.
