I always thought it was really inconvenient that I couldn't tell what mode my multitool was in without either using it or hitting the key on my keyboard to cycle through modes. I also thought it kind of sucked that I couldn't see my current health level unless I was actually taking damage. Well over 400 hours in I realized that hitting the key will tell me both of those things.

If I recall, you HAVE to build the Pulse Drive before you leave your starting planet. Not knowing it is called not reading what the game is telling you to do.

For me, fastest way to get nanites is to do a loop of all my known pirate stations, buy up all the suspicious tech and arms boxes, then open them up and sell the modules on the regular station... easy 50k+ in like 10 min. At what point does one need more than 50k nanites in short notice anyway?

Was shared with us so thought I’d share Easy Nanites and upgrades (If you have units to spare) Travel to Pirate station and buy all the Suspicious Packets (Goods,Tech,Arm). Open them and this will be items like illegal contraband, goods to trade or Illegal upgrades. You can use the best upgrades then turn around and sell any you don’t need for nanites at the other stations there. Any special items can be sold elsewhere for more money or saved if needed.

It took me 100 hours to figure out that Silicate Powder could turn into glass. And, just recently getting to 220 hours, I found out that 'Salvaged Glass' from sentinels has unique Upgrade Modules, and with it, I also found out that we have a Cap 'Core Health' being 9 dots, so essentially, any extra 'Core Health' is pointless...Anyways, nice video!

Just messing around last week I learned about the freighter in low orbit and it gave me massive Helldivers vibes so I changed the name of the freighter to Super Destroyer and constantly keep it in low orbit above my main house.

There are people who skip over everything then say that the game suck. I've followed someone who streamed the Arceus pokemon game and was complaining that she didn't know what to do and i told her, what she had to do and that if she read it, she would've known too and she just replied ''i don't have time to read''.

I did not know about the redistributing power feature however I have seldom been in need of the feature until sentinel's were given ships and call in freighters if you leave the planet. That became a none issue when I discovered you can call in the anomaly and dock there to escape. The tutorial farming guide in game I believe teaches how to make glass from frost crystals or maybe it is what the game tells you when you use the right click option to build things in your inventory. I never tried making glass in the refiner because it just didn't occur to me until I stumbled across the recipe to do it in a streamed video on refiner recipes. Until then I would just use my frost crystals that I farmed to make the glass. Large build projects are definitely faster using all that excess silicone from digging tunnels everywhere to hide my utility lines from mining operations and power sites. I lost track of how many times I deleted stacks of silicon to make room in my inventory. LOL I don't think I even Installed the basic refiner in my backpack for at least a year after I started playing. Not because I didn't know about it but I had the portable refiner I made from the first day and just kept using it out of habit. Once I built my first backpack refiner I never used the portable one again unless I needed the capacity to speed things up. The refiner recipes that allow you to multiply your stock of certain elements blew my mind when I first learned about them. My favorite way to make credits in the game though is trading loops from one on planet trading post to another using warp gates to hop between them. Learning that you can create a base on the ramps between the landing pads and the trading hubs was a game changer for me.

Exosuit tech lists "sprint" as a thing. No where in the controls is anything about sprint. Oh, the control menu calls it "run." Which, you know you think were always doing anyway but pressing down the right stick is "run." Faster. As in "sprint."

This is one of the most amazing games I've ever played. But life gets demanding. THANK YOU for reminding me to drop the unnecessary and play this awesome magnum opus from time to time. This game and Valheim are my "trapped on a desert island" games- modded, of course. I have about 125 mods for NMS, most being visual, and 350-ish for Valheim. 👍👍👍

@Arkham7621 True Black, changing Mining Beam, Photon Canon, Infra-Knife, etc. colors, stuff like that. I hate NexusMods, but head there, get to the NMS section, and type "color". You'd be surprised at how many things you can visually enhance. I have a mod that changes Biological Horror skin to look like something out of "Alien" (that mod is no longer available, though). That's just off the top of my head, there are dozens more I can't recall right now.

Tbf, you do have to get an upgrade for that. Even then your freighter has to be in the same system. Only the general cargo is available prior to doing so.

I don't think waving is required, if you're on the ground there's a 5% chance a passing npc ship will stop to trade with you. (Source: 'Jason Plays' - he was doing a "Fugitive" start with no starter ship and was hoping for an npc to land so he could buy the ship.)

7:01: The recipe for glass includes Frost crystals, but I don't think there's an explicit recipe shown for using silicate - at least, not in the crafting menu.

@ not to mention it’s pretty complex, like, I think you can refine an item multiple times and end up with the same thing you started out with. Certain things, like living slime, can even be made that way… for some reason.

I've heard that uploading your base when it's all clear keeps it clear of any terrain regenerating. It works with mine, but I didn't excavate A LOT with my base, so I can't say exactly if it's true in all cases.
