What an incredible journey this has been😭😭😭 and I’m even more grateful that all of you have traveled and experienced it with me😭🙏🏽❤️I’m so proud of our boys and girl Tanjiro, Nezuko, Zenitsu and Inosuke they have really come so far and I cannot wait to continue this journey with them in Season 3 along with Muichiro and Mitsuri I’m kinda bummed we didn’t get to see Muzan and the rest of the Upper Moons reaction to the news of Gyutaro/Daki falling to the hands of the Demon Slayer Corps😭😭😭but I’m sure we will eventually mostly likely in the first episode of season 3 given that they teased it at the end with Akaza being summoned to the Infinity Castle hopefully Muzan doesn’t take out his anger on Akaza again🤣🤣🤣🤣as for our main man Tengen I’m glad Nezuko healed him and I’m glad both he and his wives survived and are now able to keep there promise of retiring they absolutely deserve it this was an absolutely beautiful ending❤️❤️❤️ with all that said I will see you guys next year or whenever Season 3 comes out and we shall continue the journey🥳 this isn’t Goodbye it’s more of I’ll see you guys next time love ya’ll and thank you all so much for everything🤗🙏🏽❤️

Ume is Syphilis. Actually, the meaning of ume is plum. When Syphillis is infected by a sick, a plum-colored mark appears on the body. Then, at that period of time, they called this disease as "Ume"

To be more precise, syphilis is called Baidoku（梅毒）, which is written as plum poison. Bai is another reading of ume, and doku means poison. So the name Ume was taken from the word bai, which means syphilis.

Just to clarify, from what we know so far - Nezuko's blood demon art affects demons and blood demon arts. Since the poison is a result of Gyutaro's blood demon art, Nezuko is able to burn the poison away (giving the impression of healing). If it was a regular poison they were affected by, Nezuko wouldn't be able to remove its effects.

i’m ngl, as someone with a sibling i teared up a couple times in this episode, Gyutaro and Ume deserved better when they were kids and that ending made me so happy tanjiro and the others made it out alive, this anime is definitely top 3 for me, i can’t wait for the next season i do hope no more hashira’s are killed or retired, i see they’re trying to pave the way for the next generation but they can hold off on writing them off for awhile lol

Secondly, I’m a big Zenitsu Fan, seeing him go from Sixfold to Eightgold, and then finally Godspeed left me speechless. Thirdly, Tengen, my favorite Hashira! I love his personality so much. It was kind of like liking Joseph Joestar the moment you first see him. And I was always so curious to see how Sound Breathing would look like. That should be about it. The name “Ume” comes from the disease “Baidoku” in Japanese, and “Baidoku” is “Syphilis” in English. Which means, Gyutaro and Ume’s mother had syphilis. (I guess you’ll know why.) After Gyutaro got killed, Muzan gathers the upper moons and have a little conversation with them, so I was expecting to see that in the last episode of season 2. Seems like rather than healing, its burning away anything demonic. i remember in season 1 with rui that nezuko's flames do not affect humans and only demons. Hence tanjiro can run through it. Since the poison is of demon origin, her fire burns it away.

Hi there, I'm huge lover of Kimetsu in Japan thank you so much for the video, I have been enjoying watching. Well, "Ume" refers to "梅" in Japan, and if we add "毒" to the word, which can be read as "梅毒", meaning syphilis (a venereal disease) in English. The people working at the district easily contracted such disease in the past, so I would guess Daki's mother passed away because of it and Ume was named from the incident.

In the afterlife Ume was forgiven by the God's and allowed to go to heaven since it wasn't her fault that she became a demon. It was Gyutaro's fault so he told her to go the other way so that she could go to heaven and be reborn one day. Gyutaro couldn't go to heaven so he went for hell. Also so she could be free of his curroptive influence. Also the only reason Ume stabbed the samurai was because he insulted Gyutaro

Ume is wrote in Chinese character 梅.(It means plum) It is named from 梅毒(syphilis)(梅＝plum 毒＝poison) and maybe, Gyutaro’s appearance is designed by Congenital syphilis (his rash, tooth …etc) Syphilis spreaded at Yukaku in Taisho era. The finale was wholesome, honestly. Finally got Douma animated, we got Daki's and Gyutaro's back story. Nezuko is the goat, she's amazing, also so proud of our boys Tanjiro, Inosuke and Zenistu, they were amazing can't wait for season 3🎉🎉🎉

Explaining about the name of Ume in this episode: Ume is described in Japanese as 梅。The meaning of 梅 (ume) usually shows "plum" in Japanese. However, when we talk about the disease, there is a name of disease using this letter called "梅毒” (Baidoku, means " syphilis"), which is one of the venereal diseases. So her name was taken from that disease that's why Gyutaro said the name was pretty bad.

I’m finally gonna read the Manga for Demon Slayer now, I’m not gonna wait 2-3 years for season 3 and the rest of this amazing series, besides I already got volumes 1-16, so now I gotta know what happens in this masterpiece of a series

The hype tells me season 3 might actually come next year, but the manga has enough plot for 2 more season after the next, so I would advise you to read the Manga. Only keep in mind that the ending was rushed and it might change in the anime.
