Love this guy so much. I knew like 5-10 mins within the game that he was gonna be “evil” / a twist character. Still didn’t stop me from aligning with him during Ch 17 lol. I found most my decisions aligned with Utility with Morality as a close second anyways

Love how Benedict is supposed to be the morally dubious one, yet Roland's path is the one that has you side with an oppressive nation and throw your fiance's entire race under the bus

I mean Roland was consumed by hatred, jealousy, and figured that he was incapable of doing anything. So he had to "pick a side" and choose Hyzante over Aesfrost. Benedict still doesn't realistically care about anyone but Seranoa in his route... The more I look the more I see terribleness in all 3 outcomes

@@Leah-Heala Benedict`s is the best by far. You get your kingdom, you free the slaves, keep Fredericka alive and well and don`t become anyone`s b**ch. Yeah, there is poverty and unsolved problems, sure, but at least those are your problems and you have the means to solve them, eventually. Plus there will always be poverty regardless of path, they just focus on it in this ending. Being poor still beats beeing poor and enslaved.

To be fair, Frederica’s decision is explicitly defined as the “moral” choice because of the game’s conviction system, so I think it makes sense that they show Benedict & especially Roland as being the immoral ones. All 3 of them only care about the conviction governing their respective choices.

@@medmax5941 it's not necessarily them being immoral for me except Benedict who has the least morality. Roland is bankrupt in liberty. He's a utility morality. Something that Hyzante specifically tries to appeal to with false morality while being a strong utility force. While Aesfrost is super liberty based. Roland doesn't have the liberty to drive his ideals for a norzelia by his own hand so he seeks help from another nation. Benedict is just straight morally not there. He's full of liberty and utility to commit to his own oaths and as such cares little for the wants or needs or pleas from other party members.

@@Leah-Heala Good point, Roland clearly cares about the Roselle and feels guilty that his choice will doom them. Benedict didn’t even go visit the Source and pretty much says he doesn’t really care about the Roselle. I was more talking about how the game frames the decision as the culmination of the three convictions, so they highlight Frederica’s morality even though the characters themselves are more complex than that.

I think Triangle Strategy is indeed made to be played multiple times (a.k.a. replayed). Because there's multiple story branches, the last boss' level in the first gameplay is only level 33-36 (which is very low compared to other RPGs last boss), and also, there's this thing called New Game+

You definitely need to replay it. There is a golden route that you've missed. Make absolutely sure that you have enough playthroughs, that route is the hardest and requires most characters that you get from various routes. It was the absolute highlight for me as my third playthrough. And this music piece plays there too!
