Not gonna lie, every time I see these videos I hate it because it makes me want to play volleyball really badly XD. But tonight I will finally get to play and train indoor properly for the first time after 1 year of just social beach games so this video is just getting me more hype.

Coach are there any tricks for spiking other than the swing? Like trick plays where you hit off blockers hands on purpose?

Any thoughts on your cosmic unity shoes for middles? I’m also looking to use the KD 14 and puma Clyde all-pro shoes if you can give me any input on those

Coach I was wondering if 4 or 5 step approach makes a difference to the power of your jump serve. Nice Edit with the Haikyuu bottle contest as the camera.
@DEFIB73 жыл бұрын
It certainly can, but more power will come from twisting your torso than from a longer approach
@yashA.4563 жыл бұрын
@@DEFIB7 Agree with you heavy here. Jump approach just means you jump higher, which results in your contact point of the ball being higher, but that doesn't have anything to do with power of the jump serve. Most likely it will reduce the power of your serve a tiny bit (not noticeable), because the ball is falling for a shorter amount of time, since you jump towards the ball (if we're being pedantic about it and consider how physics work) If you practice your biomechanics and rotation of torso into your armswing you will get much more results. just search for armswing mechanics there are other youtubers than Coach Donny who teach it, "torqvb" comes to mind when it's only about armswing mechanics
@drew52133 жыл бұрын
@@yashA.456 you won't have less power with a longer approach. The time the ball is in the air will affect how fast the ball drops after contact (vertical momentum, assuming you don't hit the ball up at all and only apply horizontal force), but your bodies momentum going into the ball will add more power to your serve (horizontal momentum). @UnknownHero That being said, I agree with above, having good arm swing mechanics will do more for the power of your serve than adding a step or two, and even then focusing on having a very explosive three steps could be more beneficial than adding steps. Overall yes adding momentum to your approach will make a difference to the power of your jump serve, but it won't be the thing to make or break your serve.
@yashA.4563 жыл бұрын
@@drew5213 just clarifying, I said that about the physics part of a serve, BECAUSE it is so situational to get a more powerful serve, with adding a few steps. So I was trying to convey that it is not the right thing to focus on at first, but definitely worth it if you wanna go from like 95% power in your serve to unlocking 100%. I gotta admit tho, I forgot about the Serving Players Body Momentum and how that adds horizontal force as well. My thought was that if you jump higher up during your serve, the ball will not fall as much, thus having less downward momentum resulting in a less powerful serve, but yea the serving players body momentum comes into play then, you're right. But let's be completely honest here, if we were ever to gauge the power of our serve and compare 3,4 or 5 step approaches w will never be able to tell if the serve was more powerful due to the steps or because the armswing mechanics were better. I would almost always assume that my serve got better, because my armswing has gotten cleaner, rather than adding steps (you gotta relearn your whole toss basically if you add a step or two) Anyways thanks for being polite about it, love having volleyball discussion haha and I see you think about it just as much as I do have good day brother
