It seems it's something that can become a big mess quite easily but you do it with ease. I usually polish with rev rev, subtle stuttering and other cool effects. That takes a lot of time and effort, but it really takes the not so shiny production to a real glossy shine. My goal is to surpass Blank Space in every sense... :)

We actually do that already. It’s hard to get the vocals consistent because a lot of times these songs are fully mixed and mastered, but I’m soloing elements throughout the video. What are you listening on though? Just rewatched a few parts and it doesn’t sound abrasive to me from talking parts to audio parts.

For me especially the chorus was too loud compared to your voice, e.g. at 15:08. When I'm listening on smaller speakers there is still the difference, but not as much. Again: Thank you!

We have some Haas on some stuff, tons of VMR on the vocal mixes, and I'm sure VTM on some channels. Not much for this video because the Slate stuff normally comes onto the channels pretty early in the process.

Always mix on my main monitors! I listen to my mixes and productions in the car or on headphones, but never to really "check it". I am really comfortable with my speakers and my room so I know how everything will translate :D

Agree to disagree. I definitely like simple productions like this to swim. It's atmospheric, it's dark, and it's minimal. We have all the space in the mix so why not use it with things like reverbs, delays, and modulation :D
