Practice helps! I just visited Quebec and I was so shy but everyone speaks French. I first spoke entirely in French to a bus driver about how to use their digital passes and asked for help: I still feel such a high thinking about that moment as it was my first time speaking entirely in French with a French person 😂

How about talking with drunk people? They will not notice mistakes. I was sitting in café watching F1. A drunk Finnish guy came in and started talking. My stress levels at 130%. Trying to answer to him in Finnish. It went well and I had a massive confidence boost first time after learning the language for many years.

For greater effect try taking one big inhale through the nose, followed by a second shorter inhale (still through the nose), and then a long exhale until the lungs are completely emptied. This is known as a physiological sigh. It quickly restores balance between the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems, which is the fastest way to bring about calm and reduce stress in real-time.

Malheureusement, au présent, je continue à travailler, et je peux pas prendre le temps de suivre à un cours. J’apprécie tes vidéos quand mêmes, et je te remercie pour tes enseignements excellents. À plus.

TO people who read this as a French I will tell you don't be afraid. When I see tourist try, every time people around are congratulating foreigners to try even when people are unsure of themselves. French people are kinda lazy to learn other languages, so every time they find great to have people learn our language. I never ever saw someone getting mocked, they are willing to help and I live in a very touristic city but not a very big one. I even saw several times in bars people paying a round to foreigners who tried! BTW Elisa you really sound as if you were a French native giving courses to foreigners, but maybe I remember wrong and you are native?

I always get confused at what English words are ok and what are not. Why weekend and not fin de semain? Forgive my spelling it's bad in both languages.
@colleenmarin89077 ай бұрын
That is localized - fin de semaine is correct in Quebec
@michaelcrummy83977 ай бұрын
I think “le weekend” is commonly used in France now, but I have the feeling “la fin de la semaine” was in common usage in France decades ago. An American who studied in France and was a very good French teacher in my opinion, taught us “la fin de la semaine” for weekend in the very early 70’s. I hope this is helpful. The other person can speak better for Québec and Canada.
