No More Heroes is one of those Video games that actually feels like a Video game.
@TheTomorrowProject4 жыл бұрын
I know what you mean. Wii actually had a lot of those--this, Ghost Squad, Red Steel 2, Mad World, Sin & Punishment, and many others. I feel like most major developers nowadays take realism as a priority over everything else, when that was never the point for video game fans. Sure, it can be cool in certain types of games, but it seems like it's just Nintendo, Platinum and a couple others and indies that keep that "gameplay first" mentality going. Shame.
@DavidHosey13 жыл бұрын
@@TheTomorrowProject meh some games definitely benefit from that focus sometimes but it’s all subjective in the end. Honestly I think that there are more good games getting released over the last few years than most any other years. These games are absolute pure genius. Easily classics of their time that completely hold up in the passage of time. The stakes are quite high for the third title and I can only hope SUDA 51 doesn't hold back and totally blows away all we've known. Travis should've been a full character in Smash as opposed to metely a costume for the mii fighter as he's easily a part of gaming history and a high water moment in gaming on Nintendo's consoles.

I played through both games back to back over the past week (having previously played them both on Wii 10+ years ago) and enjoyed them even more this time. I think 1 is still my favorite of the two, but I enjoyed 2 a lot more this time than the first time I played it. And apart from some minigames being frustrating (I literally could not make any progress on the last level of strength training), I found 2 to be SIGNIFICANTLY easier than 1. I was actually shocked because I remember having a LOT of trouble with the final boss of 2 in my Wii playthrough, but this time I only died once and that was because I forgot he could knock you out of the window if you were too close to it. I am waiting for a copy of Travis Strikes Again to arrive, but in the meantime I am restarting the first game on Bitter (which so far at least has been pretty easy since all progress/upgrades carry over, but I expect will still have some tough fights).

Iv finished both and ill say this on the tech difference most people miss: The original wii versions are built around the 30fps. The remastered versions move too fast in some degree, thus sometimes dodges won't work and combat is missing some hitboxes. It was most annoying in the final boss and later bosses. They are also missing a few songs and some graphics are missing. Other than that, its a damn good port. Maybe a patch will fix the issues later.

The issues I found with the port of NHM 1 are The opening cutscene's audio doesn't sync up properly. The video is a bit behind. You can tell with the boss countdown Some audio has some crackling. Like the selecting a save file, thunder ryu saying "I know, you want that", and some wrestling tapes just to name a few The batting mini game is terrible with both control schemes. You either sacrifice reliable inputs, or power. Without motion controls, the ball usually hits 1 or 3 guys No button remapping. Yes, you can use the system button remapping, but it's honestly preferable to have in built in the game itself. Just so I don't have to go into the settings for every game I do kinda wish the loading screen logo didn't lag But it's overall a great port, but it still needs some ironing. I already emailed engine software about it. They said that they are taking note of every issue. Whether or not there is a patch is the teams choice

did these games get a cartage or just DL? cause when I search I find many different covers for them but the prices are odd making me think their just slips for cases.

Fair play to not spoil playable character, never played before but will do soon, king on toast

Can you go into detail as to what makes the PS3 version "a disaster"? That's the version I own, and I've been craving for someone to do an in-depth comparison between it and the Switch version. This comment implies familiarity, and I would love more information. Provided, of course, that it wasn't hyperbole for effect.

There's a good amount of videos explaining it, let's say that the PS3 version wasn't handled by Suda's team, there was a change of artstyle and other questionable choices
@kevincmejia4 жыл бұрын
Suda even stated that he is not a fan of that version

Gameplay feels off, somthing about it just doesn't feel the same, the graphics actually take away from the games feel as well, and the frame rate jumps all over the place.

Wait there was a PS3 version? I only played the Wii version upon it's release

Will there be a physical version?

Well said at the end Alex! Some people certainly do get things and still not enjoy them and that was definitely a great way to break it down! However I definitely am one who enjoys this kind of humor lol

I bought the second one, beat it, and then went and bought the first one because it was so good.

I want to make video essays I won’t get copyrighted for using footage of the video games right just for audio?

I hate to be THAT guy, but do y'all think there will be a physical release of this game?
@Ryuujin10784 жыл бұрын
Shit, be THAT guy! I’m hoping it’ll get a physical release by the likes of Limited Run Games, Strictly Limited Games, Special Reserve Games, etc. These companies tend to make deals with smaller studios/indies to may physical games in limited quantities
@fornkly3 жыл бұрын
For a fairly short game, No More Heroes 1 is action packed in a nicely priced package with a decent sale from time to time. Big recommended!! Especially if you like the likes of Bayonetta and Xenoblade Chronicles but don't want the lengthy commitment

I have the third game and love it. Would it be worth it to get these two games? They look good, but look just like the third one. I just don’t want to get two more of the exact same game.

I wonder what the chances are of getting a physical release of both games on one cart?

Just bought the Limited Run Games copies of these. I am hyped

I don't understand why both of the reviewers on NL say "Banile" instead of Banal, quite strange.

Playing through the first game and found annoying problems. There's an assassination mission on the beach that will break your camera and the baseball mini games don't work as intended without motion controls

I don’t know how you have a No More Heroes review on the Switch and don’t mention the controls :/

My favorite game ever is Sekiro, then Ultimate and now NMH 1 I was so surprised beyond expectations just playing this a week ago that now I’m playing NMH2!! I understand your reasoning for saying it’s not for everyone because I can see how people won’t understand it and be like wtf with its driving around and mission system/ repetition. However if you get it everything makes so much sense it’s great and playing one makes 2 so much better IMO. I played the first NMH 3 times it’s like he said it can be boring but the games so worth it you find yourself to keep playing it hard to find games NG+ is enjoyable in!

NMH literally sold me on Switch.. After I found out about the 1st 2 games being out on Switch, and the 3rd one coming out this year - I just had to take my wallet and buy a Switch. Nintendo's support for developers and having a mostly anti-censorship stance just made me want to give my money to them! The only issue with Nintendo is that the 1st party titles are almost never on sale. D:
@anthonyrubel40573 жыл бұрын
Thats the problem (or non problem for nintendo) people will pay full retail for their games and they know it (so they don't see a need to put them on sale)
@andywarda14814 жыл бұрын
Well, that answered that. I had hoped that this would make it to the Switch and get the good version.

I had it on Wii, the PAL version (bought in Germany) & it was slightly censored (no blood, etc.), but still very much enjoyable. I hear the Switch version has no "Heavenly Star" soundtrack :(

They release these games a few months after I bought no more heroes 2 for over £30. I'm happy but pissed at the same time. More happy though

loved NMH2 - story wasnt as solid or funny as the first game, however the second game completely refines all the pointless parts of the first game (ie the "open world") superb. I genuinely enjoyed the "NES" games which are very fun. im so pumped for number 3. cant come soon enough.
