Can’t overlook the problems with this game. It’s incredibly buggy, open world sucks and clunky. Love me NMH but can’t forgive the game for every flaw, I’d honestly give it 6.5 outta 10 for anyone who isn’t a die hard fan.. I’m a die hard fan and love it lol

This game is like the scary movie series. If you start with a newer one it sucks. But starting from scratch it makes all the many faults somewhat passable to the point you can enjoy the game. I just hate the fact that bosses were sort of a letdown from what I was expecting like the vanishing point fight.. For anyone new I'd wait for a price drop to at least 32 to have no regrets if it doesnt suit your taste 😁

there's no jank in this game, and I can tell because I have hundreds of hours on let it die; this plays nothing like let it die, there's a bit of recovery punishment in the dodge but that's it, the gameplay is super smooth

As someone who’s played the 1st two games, I’m kinda disappointed. This game is very colorful, introduces some new mechanics BUT it feels a little lack luster. For one, I’m not crazy about the plot. Part of what I loved about the series is the fact that you killed human assassins, and seeing their blood gush out like something out of a Tarantino film. Number 2, and probably the biggest thing for me, is the lack of customization. In the first one, you can change shades, change jackets and pants. This new one only lets you change your shirts, yeah there’s different outfits but I’m not a big fan of them. Also, there’s no different beam katanas! You’re stuck with the same one the whole game. The boss fights are kinda lame. The game just doesn’t give me that same feeling I used to get from playing the 1st 2. Kinda regret paying $54 for the game. Should’ve waited till it went on sale. HOWEVER, I’m not going to say it’s a complete bust, the mini games are fun, the death glove is bad ass, the humor is still there, Travis is hilarious like all ways, and there are some tropes that pay homage to its predecessors (I.e., mowing lawns, the beef head store in Santa destroy , using the restroom to save the game). For a new comer, I would say you’d probably enjoy this game, the gameplay is great, the combat is smooth. But, if you’re like me, and you’ve played the other titles, you might feel a lil cheated. But I’m sure if a 4th one comes out I’ll probably play it lol

Being a fan of the original I never expected to be blown away by the visuals, I am happy that it looks that much better than the 1st 2 in art and presentation for sure.

To be fair, some of the locations does look borderline ps2/wii era. Santa destroy look at least ps3/360 era, but some of other look terrible with the filter they used especially the beach location.. I seen ps2/wii run on emulator that look much better.

i must say after 15 year playing games, nmh3 combat is top tier hack n slash, similiar with god hand,gow,dmc with amazing art, but the looping on each boss, is pretty tedious, and yeah the performance, annoying open world quality is impact on looping game, if this game only built linear game like other hack n slash, 9+ metacritic should be easy

The hack n slash is functional for what it's going for. While I can't speak for God hand, I wouldn't put nmh3 combat on the same tier with gow nor dmc. Its borderline simplistic with almost zero dept. At least the previous nmh main entries have high/low attacks. I literally beat the game just spamming the weak attack and switch to heavy whenever I prefect dodge follow by throw if stunt.

It does to be honest. Play lms2. That open world was so bad but you needed to participate in it to play the main storyline. I feel like this one wouldve been better with a more condensed and detailed map. The sacrifice couldve paid off. Still like I said before the combat is really good and Im not too picky so I dont mind as much as the next guy. Plus I heard there's a Daemon X Machina outer in the game toward the end 🤩🤩

@@ejelbertson9974 it's there solely for the sub missions. Even then, most of Santa Destroy was wiped out, so of course it wouldn't be any NPCs there. It doesn't matter that much. The story elements were always before and after a boss fight. The combat is the meat, the open world is just the crust.

It most likely will come to PC next year. As both NMH 1 & 2 released on PC not too long ago. Not sure about other consoles. Travis Strikes Again did release on PS4 in Japan, but did extremely poorly in sales( the lowest selling version in the franchise). But the NMH series was never a huge seller in Japan to begin with.

Best one? It was the worst in the series. The bosses were horrible, no charm, dialogues were never serious compared to the first two. I’ve religiously loved no more heroes, but this game after beating it just felt so unfulfilling….on top of paying $60. I feel I was hoping for more….
