Great stuff, can’t beat working terriers on Rats. I used to go with my Father and his Mates when I was approx. 9, we had some Bedlington Whippets for the “Runners” and the rest of the Pack was a mixture of Russell’s, Lakeland’s and the rest were to quote the late Phil Drabble, “Of pedigree unknown”. Started as I said, at 9 and I’m now 73 my last Terrier passed away a couple of years ago, a Border bitch, when she clapped her eyes on a “Long Tail” she was like demented Chainsaw. Keep up the Noble Art👍

I don't like to see any animal being killed! BUT, there is no poison being put down that can kill other wildlife and pets. All those terriers and lurchers look in amazing condition. And doing what is instinctive to them. The rat population needs to be kept under control and l think this is the best method. Can you imagine being poisoned? What a slow cruel death. To me this is more natural

The way you handle your dogs and the condition they are in is a credit to everyone involved. Pick them up by the rat or scruff of the neck, not a worry about a busted claw or the odd scratch or tussle for a kill and everyone gets a fair shot at it. Even the young dachshund ! They are as healthy and robust little chaps ( and girls) you are ever likely to see ! All the way from Australia and more at home with 50kg beasts on boar I love it !😎👍

Rats are much smarter than they get credit for and over time learn to avoid traps and even most baits. The absolute best tactic is to keep changing tactics so they are always guessing. @@TonyYoungIdea well I would hope the average person can outsmart a rat. They do learn and they will eventually start avoiding traps. Grew up on a farm, I saw it all the time, traps picked clean and yet no rats in sight. They will carry off poison and you’ll find it days later in places you didn’t put it. They have very sensitive senses and are good at avoiding poisoning. You need to be employing multiple tactics so they have a hard time adjusting to everything at once.
