I've seen that screw head replacement on M cameras. Looks good. Do you think a heat gun might help with the OEM adhesive or is it too close to the top LCD? Maybe I will pry my Leica red dot loose and paint it flat black.

Definitely very inspired by the M’s! I was concerned about the screen as well with applying heat, I’ve heard good things about using wooden tooth picks to remove the OEM dot, but was just a bit impatient and don’t have any on hand so opted for the toothpick I had available

I use cabinet screw covers for my red dots. Maybe I missed it, what did you use to darken the words LEICA? That is my next step on my SL but i want to make sure i can remove it if i decide to sell it.

I only switched it out on my sl2s which already has the blacked out name plate. But I have read that rubbing alcohol would take the white paint off the sl2 without damaging the camera body and then you can repaint it 🤷‍♂️

How have I missed that peak made black anchors!? I have an SL and was going to use it for some video, then realized it’s prob not the best for that. Would you suggest the Sl2?

Yes! Love that they have a black option! And yeah, the sl2 or sl2s are phenomenal options for video

Would love to do this to my sl3! Do you know how or a safe way to remove the white from the Leica lettering? It’s a bit to loud for my taste haha

I know if you use rubbing alcohol on the sl2 it takes the white paint off, probably the same for the sl3 but I do know it has a different material to make the camera lighter so it might effect the name plate around the logo as well

I have just removed the red dot and put a screw hole sticker on (with 3 layers of the same stickers cut to fit underneath to get to the right hight). I'd argue that looks at least as good. Those things cost nothing, like under 10 bucks for literally hundreds.
