Yup….imho just too many distractions, pressure to make content, all the gadgets to manage, spending more and more money, more pressure to make content…now it’s a job, who comes home from work cleaning windows or driving truck all day, comes home and says…I want to clean windows on my days off….and the distractions whether he wants to admit it or not, takes focus off the road and what’s happening…cars will always come and go around us…we’re startled many times…because we were distracted and didn’t see it coming….. imho he was just too hard too soon, and it’s coming back to bite him in the ass…frustrating, having identity issues….and appears to be a little lost as to what riding is really about….because…..it’s really a job rather than an escape, for freedom and relaxation 🤔

I'm afraid I don't quite relate sensei. I feel safer and far more at ease on my bike than in a car on the roads and, besides, the trips on my bike are undeniably much more enjoyable. I am not a religious/spiritual person and don't believe that something supernatural/spiritual is in control of my bike when I ride or the traffic or the weather conditions I need to contend with. I plan my journey and try my best to hedge against contingencies such as a flat tire, mechanical failure etc. What I do agree to is that sometimes other unforeseen events intervene which would disrupt my planned bike trip. Shit happens and that's life.

I am can relate, but I'm a new rider. Only 6 months riding. I've been riding beautiful country roads. Mainly to avoid drivers on common busy streets. People in cars really make me feel unsafe. So I have been riding all the beautiful country roads back behind my house and I love it because I'm normally on these roads all by my self! I can be in the middle of road and be absolutely safe. I can stop and take pictures and nothing bad happens. I do trust my spirit when I ride. I am a believer. So when I don't feel it in my heart, I don't go out. I'm hoping I can overcome this fear of car drivers, but only when i feel safe will I ride around cars. I understand this feeling you have. P.S. I'm still watching your content

I've recently have a friend who has given up riding. He was a leader in our group, always setting the example for others in yearly mileage, leading group rides, and spending nearly all his retirement time at the Harley Shop. In October, he had 3 close calls, where he felt his life was in danger during rides. He has now sold his bike. I was shocked, and saddened. He was a great rider and I always felt comfortable with him when he leading our rides. He still comes around the Harley Shop, but I don't know how much longer that will last. I will truly miss him. I can understand how you're feeling. Give it some time, and see if God still has a path for you, but change is hard, a bitter pill that we must sometime swallow. Many blessings biker man.

Bro, I had to chime in on this video. Please Lison to your gut feeling about riding. On 8/26/24 I had a motorcycle accident here in Atlanta that left me with two broken elbows, three broken ribs, a cut kneecap, and a totally crushed rotator cup that cause me to have to have an osteo shoulder replacement surgery that which cause me to have stay in (Grady Hospital) for 9 days. Atlanta has become extremely bad for bike riders now that I thought about selling my race bikes and my 2020 Honda Goldwing DCT and moving somewhere were theirs far less traffic for bike riders. But I can't because like you I love riding my bike long distance and I love the passion for it. So great message my brother and please be safe.

68, i waited riding again after my children's were grown and child support was over, over a decade ago, 51. Still riding 2016 Indian Springfield. Now retired, trying to maintain a biking lifestyle on the meager SS received. Best to you young man, but family should come 1st! Great video Sensei. I feel the same way at times , November thru January just don’t feel right riding our motorcycles. Up here in Boston the weather changes and folks put their motorcycles away until April. Same with classic cars. But, like you said Safety comes into play during the hectic holiday season for Nov thru Jan. People don’t pay attention and the roads up North just get full of bumps and potholes. I put my Harley away November 15 and will ride it again April. I used the Dealership winter storage on my 24 Road Glide. Still bring us along when you go around the block so we can enjoy Georgia and your ride video. Stay safe you and your family. Steve from Boston

Comin from Cali my whole life I know you’ve gotta ALWAYS keep that head on a swivel and treat every driver as if they’re out to do harm. I completely understand this video. Very relatable. I haven't ridden my bike in a month now, and i usually ride my bike 5 days..but its the holiday season, and the local traffic is RIDICULOUS. I deal with depression and anxiety, so, at times, there are bad feelings that make me not get on it. And I usually listen to my mind/body. If for some reason I feel "off", I take a moment to see if I can work it out or if it persists. It happens, and ive been dealing with it my entire life. I don't let the not riding bring me down, as i know there'll be more rides, and, in GA, we really can ride year round. But, i do plan on riding this weekend to S.C. All your other non riding videos..I like. You have good advice and give your perspective of things, that maybe someone else doesn't think of. You're a good dude!

I became a Citizen about 2 years ago salute captain. I can relate to this video. What I'd like to share is go with how you are feeling and remember the most high is the one clearing the road for you. I have three guys I ride with and we rotate who says a prayer before each ride. I always pray for everyone. We have a ride planned from CT to Niagra Falls then to Toronto next summer. We are all on BMW R GS. Me 2022 1250 40th Anniversary GS, there is a 2023 R 1250 GS and other rider a 2024 R 1300 GS. Me Ive had CR 125, YZ 125, 93 ZX7R, 02 ZX6R, 05 636R, 08 ZX10R, 2011 ZX10R, 2015 R 1200 GS now a 2022 R 1250 GS. I just do my best to be on the lookout. Most cars either dont pay attention or they hate seeing a bike just move easy while they have to wait. I pray for those drivers. Like you I have some bad thoughts. I would wheelie by cars if they did something stupid now I dont care anymore. By the way you had an awesome video on ridding in the cold that really helped me better prepare for the cold. We did a ride past weekend 34 degrees - NO PROBLEM at all. Heated gear, layers and Halvarssons Tihola gloves. God bless all my riders!

Big ups to you for sharing a part of you with us. I had the same feeling back in 2003 after being struck on my 2002 Electra glide. it was a beautiful sunny morning, and my bike was a bright orangish red color, and a guy turned right in front of me, causing a collision. He said he didn't see me. REALLY? Almost broke my femur. Every time I got on the bike after that, I found myself riding the brakes, totally paranoid, if you will. It took a long time for me to enjoy riding again, and I had been riding since the mid 70s. Take your time, my friend. Riding is in our blood. I still made it happen. So truly respect goes out to you. I’m here the Atlanta area also. Let me when you know when you come outside to ride locally

I took 10 years off becasue of my daughter. I got back into it a couple years ago since she graduated and moved out. I have been doing some long distance riding but you are right the shit is dangerous and people don't give AF about you. These people will risk killing you over 10 feet of space. I have seriously been considering stopping street riding and just going to the tack to get my fix. Sure the track can be dangerous as well but I think its a good compromise.

Definitely can relate sensei! Especially here in GA. I feel like here in GA, drivers are always out to get you. I ride everyday to work because I have no choice, the ol lady takes the car to work. Every time I feel sketchy about any ride, I take it nice and slow for a little bit. Try to listen to my gut on what’s happening around me. Once I know everything is ok, I keep on trucking. Ride safe sensei and watch out for these GA drivers! 😅

I've thought about joining a bike club but watching this video and reading the comments made me think otherwise. I've rode alone the almost 2 years I've been riding and what I love about it is I dont think about anything else while I'm riding. It's like meditating. I'm constantly paying attention to the road, my bike, and other drivers/riders. I never feel like I need to go ride when I don't want to. I never feel pressured to push any harder than I want to. I can ride for as long or little as I want to. Now that I think about it, it's the only real time I get to myself other than the gym. The rest of the time I'm Dad, Husband, coworker, employee, Son, Brother. I think alone time is more valuable than most people think.

Great topic. There are times when you have to focus on other things for balance. Doesn’t mean you won’t ride or don’t want to ride. Just have to do the adulting thing. lol if I could ride everyday I would but as the bread winner you have to prioritize. So sometimes riding may not be in the top 3. Those times when drivers in cars do something stupid or catch you off guard. Those things remind you to stay on your toes. Those are the stories you can share to remind your biker friends to stay alert.

First time here. I had a fall after a car bounced a 18 wheeler tire two lanes over into me on I-75 that had me questioning life choices. Once I got the bike back, I was riding again. Lessons were learned. Most of my riding from this point forward will be back roads for fun. If I ride highways, it will be during the daytime when I have maximum visibility. I won't ride during the winter holiday weeks either. There are too many drunks rushing around.

It feels good to get out and get in. So I have had them feeling when I was your age. But it's called biker fever. Sometimes, your temperature can go up with stupid drivers. But now at 70 I ride locally and enjoy it. Plus, my people's know I'm close to home. You're ok to be at that moment, my brother. I've been there.

Bro, me wife and I got rid of all our sports bikes; MV Agusta Brutale Serie Oro, MV Agusta Brutale 2024 Assen(wife's bike), Ducati V4R, Suzuki 3rd Gen Hayabusa and BMW M1000RR; and sold all those bikes and got us 2 brand new 2025 Triumph Rocket 3R Storms. Mine is all black and wife's bike is blue/black color scheme. We love them to death, can ride further and with more comfort than any distance we could do on sports bikes. The Rocket 3R storm is seemingly as agile as the Speed Triple, but with the torque of a freight train and the speed of the Hayabusa and from 0-60 no sports bike will beat us off the line even if the sports bikes have the Brentune. Anything over 80 mph then that's a different story. But, these Triumphs, that we have, to go 100,000 miles easily without engine or mechanical issues; which I could NEVER say that about any of the sports bikes we had. We'll 100% keep these Rockets until the next major upgrade comes out and then we'll continue staying with the Rocket 3R's for the foreseeable future !

Oh course. I am more strategic with riding. I realized that riding is individual journey and when one wants to ride and the spirit says yes. It is a done deal. Funny thing is that I was under the impression that people took riding seriously. lol I found out quickly most don't ride and most really lack the skill to ride. I'm not saying compete with others for miles. Because I know a few who racked up a lot of miles and I don't ride anymore due to being burnt out. Pace yourselves. @Ride Fit Nation Bro, im right there with you. Im 48 as well. Ive had 15 NEW bikes since 2015. All liter bikes and a 636 and MT09 for stunt riding. I just bouhht my first cruiser backnin June. 2024 Road Glide. I still have my 2024 R1 as well. Inwas also partnof the MC at one time. 99% The Four Horsemen MC, and PREZ of a 1% MC - MIXBREED AZ. I dont miss it AT ALL. I miss the money we were making and that is about it. Def do not need a cut to enjoy riding. On another note, I remember a time when I eat, drank, and slept motorcycle riding. Now, at 48 it seems to not be as enjoyable as it once was. I no longer get that thrill i once got. I talk aboit this all the time. I thoight i was the only one. I live in AZ and we ride all year in great warm weather. However, i now find myself riding 2/3 time a month now. Im heart broken bro. This sucks bcuz riding is very therapitic for me. I'm across the pond & I know how you feel. Recently I feel like when i'm riding I must have a milion doller / £ bounty on my head. Ain't doing nothin' yet people cut me off & then just flip me off. Gross tonage always wins. No point fighting a car on a bike we'll lose everytime unless you're carrying. Man, I swear people are just out to get me sometimes, I just ignore it tho. I don't trust others to put my safety first. I trust myself I train everytime I can - safety & skills is how I get to enjoy my rides just chilling. Without really thinking of to much. Winter & colder weather riding is totally diff from just riding in nice hot summer days. So many other hazzards to worry about now & you hit it right on the head of how people are feeling at the end of the year. I'd recommend taking a police course or some advanced training it may clear your mind & give you more ease. I know that's what'll help me in the end. Either way it'll always be upto you weather or not you get on that bike. Cause i'm in the same boat if my gut / spirt is telling me nahh leave the keys right there. Imaa do it, last time I ignored that feeling I almost paid the price for it.

This happened to me back in 2016. I just lost the passion of ride. I had a couple close calls. The mistake that I made was I sold my motorcycle. If I had it to do it all over again I would’ve kept my bike. Because a few years later I started riding again. Which means I had to go buy another motorcycle. That bike that I sold was my favorite motorcycle out of all the motorcycles I had ridden over the years. The guy sold it to will never sell it back to me either.
