To add to the recommendations of survival horror games - Still Wakes the Deep is worth a shout. Very Lovecraftian, some great scares and also has some of the best dialogue I've ever seen in a game (Scotsmen dropping C-Bombs) Lol.

i find that the max difficulty of this is actually easier than the first difficulty which is wild to me, constantly dying on baby mode vs not even touched on max mode

played one match, died at one of the early POI (was actually the first ranger station you went through), other players in chat trying to get to me which was nice of them. Kinda lost interest in playing solo, was very buggy. A friend has the game so Im waiting for him to get on. games very atmospheric, but needs a lot of work, especially melee

The game is cool but it’s not working properly. This is the developers chance to work on it and show players that they don’t need to be afraid about bugs and connection issues.

Even the original game took a long time to improve and get to where it currently is. It wouldn't be surprising if it isn't meant to be good yet, which isn't really a good idea, but I guess that's just how they roll.

NMRIH 1 is a free to play game. Honestly if you ever think about playing this, I would play that first because it will teach you basically everything about the game without bugging out every 15 seconds.
