I've had an Ender 3 Pro for almost 5 years of moderate printing. I've spent maybe $100 buying parts - extruder, hotend, filament guide, etc, and it just keeps chugging. If I ever upgrade I'm definitely looking to creality first, and bed leveling is the only part I really dislike, so this was very informative!

I upgraded from an ender 3 pro and would highly recommend the KE. It's incredibly fast, and just better than the 3 pro in every way. The WiFi printing is sweet

That builds up a lot faster and easier than my Ender3 V2 did. The V3 looks like it's got several nice upgrades from the V2. With a bit of tweaking the speeds and feeds, you ought to be able to get rid of some of those odd artifacts.

Like others have said almost all the problems you had with the prints would go away with supports, I use tree supports they seem to work the best and use less filament hence less waste. have fun with the new printer. I have the exact same one coming Friday to be a sidekick to my K1 Max.

They got a really nice 3D printer there, and at 500 mm/s, it's also very fast. The 3D prints have turned out really well; a lot has been done in recent years, and with a nozzle temperature of up to 300 °C, you can use all types of filament. I'm looking forward to the satellite projects and how the 3D printed parts perform in practice.

Turn on combing/ironing. Try the Cura slicer. Overhangs of 45 degrees is not a problem for me with my 3 year old Ender 3. Somethings wrong. Maybe helps with the cura slicer. Or turning the speed down.

Get it dialed in. Your opinion will change. Voxelab Aquila is an Ender 3v2 clone with a glass bed. Ready out of box for your parents, techy middle school'ish age kids, etc. Monitor your environment for temperature changes/humidity. I have problems when humidity changes due to storms and my area gets humid during prints. Also watch out about drafts from fans/AC vents. I have an Ender 2 Pro that I stored over at my cousin's house for awhile and I'm about to start printing small stuff on it while using my other printers for longer tasks. That's the cool thing about 2 printers (or more)

I absolutely love my Ender 3 Pro. I've slapped a Capricorn bowden tube on there, flashed the firmware to Klipper, and us a RPi 4 with Mainsail on it and never had a single issue. I manually level the bed maybe once a month, I don't know if I just happened to win the lottery with this particular machine but it has always just worked.

If you slow the printing down, this particular Ender will give you MUCH better prints. The native Creality profiles are a bit show-off-y. You can get further into the adjustment weeds with another slicer. I use Cura. Adding and adjusting supports is super important for little figures and stuff. It's interesting that you're so impressed with the V3 KE's features, which are pretty standard these days. However, it IS worlds beyond the horrible older Ender 3s, one of which I was cursed to own. Glad you got this one up and running.

I recommend you use Ultimaker Cura as your slicer. The automatic supports are really good in that program (especially tree supports to save filament) and I have not had any issues with it. On my ender 3 v2 NEO I needed to download a plugin for Cura to get the preview to generate on the actual printer screen but that is not entirely necessary.

I just got the Ender-3 V3 KE and have been running it that past few days with zero issues. What I have been able to print comes out perfect. Now all of a sudden when the machine is starting to print and starts to calibrate, I'm getting an error "unknown exception" Key: 2194 while it is trying to find home on the Z-axis. I can't get any of the self tests to work either. The machine is clear of any obstructions. I've been able to turn if off and on again a few times which would resolve the issue but now it's not working and I can't figure it out.

Spaghetti is good but can it print meatballs? I know nothing about these printers' parameters so it makes me wonder if there is an appreciable trade off concerning print time versus quality. Also I'm curious if you ever tried a hand held laser scanner to copy and print objects. It would be neat to print your face or some other interesting thing...like Donnie.

Nice Review. I also got my Ender3 V3 KE few days back. Are u using Creality Hyper flow PLA or generic PLA? What material profile I should be using if I want to print Generic PLA filament which is rated for 100mm/s only. Should I copy the provided setting for 0.1 / 0.2 mm and reduce the max speed to 100mm/s leaving rest of the other settings same?

I rarely use my 3d printer... a bad reason for that is lack of motivation.. but good reasons for that are: the print time is just too long, fusion 360 drives me up the wall.. and the material (PLA in most cases) just isn't great for most parts. I would like to use 3D printing more for my job as an architect- but SDL printers are especially bad at printing boxes aka as models of buildings.. and on top of that there is no good way to use the 3D model of architectural software with the printer.. so I have to start from scratch and nobody is paying me for that. That being said- almost every print I actually did was usable. I mostly designed a few novelty items like lamp shades but also some missing knobs for old electronics and such.

Highly recommend the Prusa MK4/Mini+ series of printers. The guy who owns Prusa is very passionate about 3d printing and since getting my Mini+, it has received several updates still to this day which improve the experience so much. I picked Prusa because I wanted a printer that didn't need tinkering, something that could sit for months unused and be perfectly fine when asked to print again. Every print has been super reliable, and I haven't had to do anything to it other than firmware updates.

I am a noob at 3d printing, why is he so bad?
@ExtraFungus
@ExtraFungus 11 ай бұрын
@@KillerEnder37 there's a lot of variables in 3d printing, getting good at it means you need to know those variables, be able to print a part, understand what needs to be changed to make it better by looking at it and do it again. Eventually you develop settings that work well for your machine and filament and you just have minimal adjustments and settings to make. If you get into smarter and better made Bambu machines it's easy easier, but you're going to pay a premium. And this is really something you should expect from all CNC machines. Wether be a spindle or a laser, those just have less variables. You cut something, you don't like the way it chattered, so you need to change your speeds, feeds, cutting tool, fixturing or make a change to the machine for stability.
@KillerEnder37
@KillerEnder37 11 ай бұрын
@@ExtraFungus I understand your point (I’m kind of going through the process myself right now), but I don’t get why that means he is bad… From the video he is basically trying different things to get good prints, I assume he tried adjusting other settings and when that didn’t work he tried a similar process with the hardware itself…
@ExtraFungus
@ExtraFungus 11 ай бұрын
@@KillerEnder37 he's bad at it because he's not reading the prints and understanding the changes he needs to make. And this comes down to not utilizing the wealth of info you have online and feedback you can get from other people if you're still not getting it.

I have different experience using Ender 3 Pro over 5 years and I love it's manual bed. If I correctly remember I once leveled it years ago and it has worked ever since. Done lot of RV parts and many car parts like hinges for hat shelf or older cars and other parts that you can not get any more, mostly from Thingiverse of course. This new one seems a lot of faster but as I only print small objects no need for speed 😆
