So should we preemptively treat new hats? Or, wait until they are sweat stained then do it? oh BTW... PAM treatment is not going to happen. So glad you updated with the coconut oil. I can do that. Thanks

Hahaha, yeah Pam I won’t do anymore, that was really my beta test to see if oil actually worked. Personally, I’d do it preemptively. It’s just gonna help hide the sweat stains right out of the gate. I’ve treated about 5 of my hats now and so far I’ve yet to see a sweat line on any of them. And I’ve for sure sweated in them plenty. Thx for watching!

So, honest question: Does this actually remove the original stains, or are you using the oil in the Pam and the coconut oil to evenly stain the entire hat? I'm assuming that you tried washing the hat with Dawn without using the Pam or coconut oil and that the Dawn alone wasn't effective?

You are right on point Steve. It's really just evenly staining the hat. And yes, I've tried EVERYTHING to make the original stain go away. I never could find a product that would do the trick. That's when I got to thinking about how much oil we sweat out and that it was really more of an oil stain than a sweat stain. I've gotten oil on a pair of pants before and typically once that oil stain is there, it's there forever. And that's when I started thinking of ways to just evenly stain the hat. I've yet to see a noticeable sweat stain on any of my hats since I did this to them.
