Oh compared to before its a lot more tame. Can still chew your hand off if you ask too much of it but so much more predictable. Wait until the anti-roll bars are on it! :-)

i kinda like the ballooning effect... its like adding an automatic transmission since taller tires equals more top end speed... the trick is to not have to much ballooning to where it rips tires apart and add throttle a little slower to keep car under better control...

Hiya. Yes we tried everything to get control but we never felt like we had control. I couldn't just take the car out and drive. I always had to consider where I was driving and always stopped it anyone came near. Now I feel I am in control and that changes everything. It's not a lunatic anymore and I would rather have control than bonkers uncontrolled speed. 😁

Great to see it works good for you and it's not just my luck of doing this, this was the only way I was able to get passed 80kph or 45 mph was to tape the inside of the tires, oh and I accidentally spilled baby oil on one of my rc cars but quickly realized that it started to look very clean like new plastic on a brand new rc car so I wet a rag and stated cleaning off 8+year old nitro fuel and sand that was covering my whole rc car, now the plastics look brand new, wanted to see if you ever done this if not if you could try it in a upcoming video

I just tried both duct tape and fishing line in a video. Very impressed with both, but duct tape is pretty good and most people have some laying around 👍🏽

Hiya and yes it's great. The fishing line apparently can cause issues. The tire can still balloon out of the wire and when the line cuts and snaps it can cause bad balance issues which isn't good. 😕 I am loving the new handling of the Cheetah though. Nice job on the camera footage. I really liked how you used your other rc car with a video camera on a jib/crane that was pretty nice to see something different. That’s a tough shot that you put a lot of effort in. I’ve been trying to figure out how ya did it. If you shot it all manually and controlled the camera yourself or had a little help with a raspberry pi or something either way it was really cool. Nice job. And you did great on those cheetah tires too.

Hiya David and thanks a lot. I've been messing with the angles a bit. I did not allow for the fact the camera car was slower than the Cheetah. Doh! 😂 But I managed to get the angles and shots as it's a 360 camera mounted on the "crane" which remains fixed but in editing I can move the camera to any position. Works well and will be using it more and in different ways in the future. Thanks for noticing! 😊 👍 Much appreciated! 😊

The only car I'm having issues with ballooning is my silly fast BSD Flux Assault, but the tyres are glued. I might try banding instead. Otherwise, it's going to cost me £50 for two pairs of tyres and wheels! Great results though. 👍🏻

I know I would love banded wheel on every car but at those prices, its just not possible.

@@JohnRobinsonRC I was going to band it with fishing line, not replace them. 100lb fishing line wound round the tyre, and glued round it, would do the same job as internal banding, and at a fraction of the cost. 👍🏻

From what others have said it doesn't work. The glue pulls off because of the forces involved and the tyre balloons over and around the fishing line. Then of course if you hit a stone the line may snap. I have tried it myself though. 😉🤔

Oh the JLB Cheetah? See i am left confused as I have beaten the crap out of mine and still have not opened up the diffs yet.... 🙄 I don't think at least. And I have had no problems? Have you upgraded anything? Have you swapped out the oil or grease?

Well the Cheetah likes to shred tires and I haven't bought any new because I managed to fix mine with the gorilla tape fix. Try and find banded tires which will stop the ballooning. 😊👍

I have to try this on some of my rcs .how about the jlb i have bin wanting one but price is getting up there now would u recommend one of them or spend little more for big brand. Those jlb look fast though

Hiya. I have said and will continue to say that my ZD Racing BX-8E is the best all round car and fast enough. But now I have fixed the ballooning problem I think the Cheetah is getting close. Seems like it's 2021 and rc tire makers need to get with the program. If hobbyists can make this much improvement just with some tape, what excuse does a tire maker with actual manufacturing ability have for not making them belted in some way to make them hold their shape?
