Calling it a tutorial is understating Dash. Bloody wizardry is what it is! Great work team

would like to see how you take the physics side and bring into the sequence and run in a scene
@polygonflow2 ай бұрын
@@michaelb1099 It would for sure be awesome, but unfortunately our tools are editor mode only right now, we hope to fix this in the future though 👍

@@polygonflow Thank you! Yes, sure. I was already playing with it, and I have a few scenes in UE that are in progress. I want to implement Dash's helpful approach there. Honestly, I don't know why Epic hasn't already bought it from you. It is a must-have tool that should be in UE by default.

Really cool! Similar results to PGC. Why those assets have no nanite checked?

How do yo make the two sides of the canyon to face one to each other instead than facing both to same direction?
@polygonflow8 ай бұрын
In this video Galen did two separate Path Scatters, and then he changed the rotation of one of them. If you are struggling, please send a message in our Discord and I can get you a short little video showing it 👋

Is there an option to use displacement with materials/textires instead of just placing assets and scattering them? Ir if I want displacement do I have to do that outside of dash? I’m new to unreal engine and trying to understand everything
@polygonflow7 ай бұрын
Yes you can both enable and adjust the displacement through Dash. Some more info is available in the Discord FAQ: discord.com/channels/826908885024636989/1203998749295120384 I hope this helps, otherwise, feel free to send a message in our discord: bit.ly/DashDiscord :)

Does this method play well with performance? All the elements seem to be static meshes, are the extra copies instanced and thus do not cost extra calls? Great vid either way!
@polygonflow8 ай бұрын
Our scatter tools uses HISM, the same as UE foliage painting, or PCG. So similar performance-wise :) Thanks!

@@polygonflow I hope I will see it with in next 2 or 3 months. Anyway best of luck try your best and also please take advantage of all upcoming features of UE5.4 on those 2 maps that I mentioned.

It's neat, but it would be a real trick to have cliffs generated based on slope detection in places where a cliff would naturally fit. That's what all these different spline based methods still fail to do. There's also just far too many subscription services out there these days.

Thanks for the suggestion, we do actually have an Angle Mask in our Surface Scatter, but will not down the request to add it to the Path Scatter as well! :) We know! That is why we decided to introduce a perpetual plan for Dash a while back! :) Available at our website, polygonflow.io
