Ah, Pringles! They’re so crispy, addictive, and fun! And putting your hand into that cardboard container reaching for your next snack is just so incredibly satisfying.
Over the years, the friendly-looking man with the giant mustache has become one of the most recognizable brand mascots in the world. But is he also the inventor? And why are Pringles called crisps instead of chips? Make sure to watch this video to find out! Beware, though: you might never look at these snacks the same way again...

Used to be, the chips fit perfectly in the can. Now, the chip got smaller but the can has stayed the same size. So, when you open a can, the chips slosh around and remind one of diminishing returns.

Hadn't really noticed have you any measurements to endorse your statement. Also if you are still getting the same weight then what is your beef? They said this about Wagon Wheels but the makers proved them wrong.

Your timeline is off. I had worked on a small part of engineering and construction of P&G's first Pringles plant in Greenville NC from 1973 to 1975. The flavors started in 1980's.

Food companies have began to realize that products can get by on reputation and good memories alone. They don't actually have to still be good. Pringles are a prime example as they turned to rubbish 5-7 years ago, very few people noticed, and they continue to sell like hot cakes.

I remember when Pringles first came out. Us kids begged our grandfather to buy them for us. (Grandpa always had "Charles Chips" delivered to his house.) I remember he was not a fan of Pringles, but we loved them. I also remember that you had to be careful opening the can since it had a metal lid that was very sharp! The same kind of peel back metal lids as were on pudding cans. Careful not to cut your tongue trying to lick pudding off of it!

When I first bought pringles they came in a "twin Pack' and you got two tubes wrapped together... then they came out with the 'Tall can' that has less than the two cans combined. Then they shrunk the tall can to about what a single can in the twin pack was

Pringles may not be selling 'air' but the 'crisp' is only 50% potato. Thanks for clueing me in. Potato 'chips' are sold by weight and the 'air' protects them from being crushed during shipping.

i bought a taller can of pringles that said 25% more, when i opened it the chips were 4 inches below the top, so 25% more really meant only the can was 25% bigger....what a marketing ripoff....and with all that extra room in the can lots of chips got broken....so now i just buy the Lays chips in a can, their cheaper and stacked higher.

I'm sorry, but this video barely touched on the periphery of PepsiCo as aan organization. You presented nothing of historical substance (or significance) for me to find any value in what i hust watched. Perhaps a 12-minute video is part of the problem. It's simply not enough time to present anything above what most people already know.
