I have watched this same situation imposed on a of I friend of mine. The child victim was silenced by the system, the mother was not charged with any offence but was treated as a bad parent for TWO YEARS in a case scheduled for EIGHT WEEKS. Social Services were proven to have lied in court repeatedly, ignored court rulings for their own agenda. Thoroughly disgusting behaviour. Even more staggering the court let it go!!!! As a community carer for twenty years, the amount of training and legislation that was passed was horrendous, and expensive for my company. Yet none of what I was taught applies in a court of law. HOW ??? I was in my teens when Victoria Columbia hit the headlines, and I believe you are correct in that nothing has changed, despite the protestations of LESSONS WILL NOT BE LEARNED. The picture of this angelic looking child (who looks very similar to my mixed race daughter) in what appears to be an olive green dress brings tears to my eyes. Political correctness and the protection of the father's minority and religious group by the Tories and Labour led many people in Britain to gaze away at this girl's abuse whilst she was alive. Why did the Polish born mother leave her daughter with such a vile monster? Why did the mother or other relatives, social services, even the police, not visit and discover this girls extensive and horrible unimaginable abuse? The EU, the ECHR and British human rights lawyers allowed this serial abuser to remain in the UK. The pro islam judiciary and social services gave custody to the criminal violent father. I have Muslim heritage, though we're now converted to Christianity, and I've witnessed many in this community treat girls appallingly. My grandmother was threatened with death by my grandfathers sister as she refused to convert to Islam. Thankfully my strong Catholic grandmother resisted her sister in laws threats of death. Sadly the complicit Tory and Labour governments, the BBC, Guardian etc protect the widespread and vile behaviour by far too many of these men towards girls and women and from public scrutiny by calling people who question the Pakistani community and muslims behaviour as far right. I am a brown guy... am I far right too?

Poor little girl. I hope her soul is at peace now. And I hope the people who turned a blind eye to her suffering never fall asleep without seeing that little girls face in their minds. She was Completely let down by all the adults around her. Neighbours who ignore abuse and don’t even try to help or report or intervene also have blood on their hands in my eyes. I’ve been in a domestic violent relationship. The neighbour who lived next door to me ignored; refused to give a statement to the police to say what they saw and a few of them actually worked to support the guy who did it. It’s very hard to forgive. We all have a responsibility and a duty of care to the vulnerable in our communities. And we cannot do that while we allow everyone who has come from elsewhere to hide behind “racism” or “Islamophobia” etc and make them above the law and acting like victims so they become untouchable. This country needs to be reformed and updated to represent the country as it is now. A lot of our laws and policies and systems have remained the same for hundreds of years and no longer suit the current climate or issues our country faces. It’s starts by having the same rules, laws and values and the same justice system being followed EQUALLY for EVERYONE here. No allowances. No tolerance for disgusting or violent crimes. No protecting the ones committing these crimes out of fear of being labelled racist etc to delay justice truly being served. I’m sorry but having a darker complexion or a different religion does not make you exempt from the law or being punished when you break them. And being held accountable by somebody who happens to white or British does not make them racist or bigots or xenophobes. All most of us want here is to live in peace together. The only ones who can’t seem to want or achieve that are the very ones who claim to follow a “peaceful religion”. And yet I’ll be the one accused of inciting hatred by saying it. I’m not killing and maming children or anyone or anything for that matter. I find THAT to be hateful.

When they can be exploited in this way to conceal acts of crime, then maybe they shouldn't have a place in a school where mandatory reporters are responsible for the safety and wellbeing of the children. Educate yourself instead of making things up. Star Hobson, Alfie Steele, Baby Peter, Finley Boden were not asian Muslim families that abused their kids.

We don't need new laws. We don't need a public enquiry, wasting tax payers money. What we need is individuals who will apply the law, regardless of " cultural sensitivities".

In UK, The so called agencies are afraid to spk up in fear of offending, religion, colour, my son was severly bullied for his dreads, by a muslim child, the teachers couldn't madiate between the children in fear of offending we lost our voice and left the school. My son is scared for life. And yes every body has blood on their hands . Too many chiefs and not enough Indians!!!!😢

That's disgraceful I am sorry. You'd think after all of the racial abuse their parents got in the 60s, 70s.and 80s these kids would know better.

...and Maria Colwell and Victoria Climbie. They always say that and yet nothing is ever done, and nothing ever changes! Social Services really are not fit for purpose and need a complete overhaul. And yes, individuals need to be held accountable. They might start to do their jobs properly then. If they do their job, make reports and recommendations which are then ignored, they should be able to whistleblow without consequence! Children must be kept safe and the monsters that hurt them should never again see the light of day!

Good home schoolers would not be affected by new regulations to prevent this.

Well said. When I was mistreated as a child the elderly neighbours daughter told me that we shouldn't scream so much because her poor mother couldn't take it, abuse included daily SA, beatings, torture with drills, axes, guns, giving birth. I still have multiple skull fractures , gun pellets and badly healed broken legs plus a multitude of other physical and mental problems that stops me from living a normal life, but yes, shuddup the neighbours don't want to hear it...maybe I didnt want to be SAed, chopped in the head with and axe, play Russian roulette with a firearm, have screws drilled into my shins etc. that kind of hurt and was horrifying. No, I was born abroad in one of those posh countries but my bio father is from here , so I moved over here as soon as I could. I feel a lot safer here because of the excellent justice system and police response. Over there, I'd have to take justice into my own hands , so I can't stay there , apparently they still want to unalive me.

It will be the same old story sorry, it won't happen again, we have learnt lessons & no one will be held to account. I wonder how many that should have been looking out for poor Sara were still working from home?.
