Thanks for this video! We live in PA and camp around the east coast, but so few youtubers talk about it. The northeast appeals to me...the forests, mountains, hundreds of lakes, and rolling hills. We love wild camping in New York. It's free! Pennsylvania now charges $10 for dispersed camping (the upside is that you reserve the site, so know you have a place to stay). Have you visited the Allegheny Forest in Pennsylvania? It's very nice; campsites on the federal land are free, The state camping sites are $16.

We've been to Allegheny a few times in the past! It's really nice and we're fairly close to that area in this video. We'd love to check out more of PA. Great to know about the fees!

I enjoyed this so much. I’m glad you decided to feature an area in the east. The eastern seaboard is a beautiful playground. The park was magical and I especially loved Savannah’s narration in this one.

I used to have the same feelings growing up in rural Pennsylvania. They say you can never go home again. I disagree. But the trip home is going to look vastly different from when you left!

So glad you did this video....the only east coast travel vlogs I have seen are the Appalachia Trail, and that is a whole different think. I would like to see more of these. I have not spent much time on th east side of the country and would like the do this myself. Everyone on the TUBE poo poos it....please show me that they are wrong.

Thanks for the nice video, it’s great that you showed off our backyard in Upstate NY! I can add that there’s a lot of nice Harvest Host options in NY state, especially around the finger lakes. The Adirondacks are also great with lots of lakes. State park campgrounds are around $25 a day.

Watching you explore the areas around your hometown brings back fond memories for me. I grew up in Niagara Falls, Canada and agree with you that there are many wonderful natural areas to explore on both sides of the border.. We had access to many different environments from waterfalls, the Great Lakes, numerous rivers, beaches, gorges (I get it! lol) and escarpments to rugged, wilderness areas and "cottage country" in Northern Ontario and Crown Land (the Canadian version of public lands with free access). Currently, I live in Calgary, Alberta which has it's fair share of beautiful spaces and mountains to explore but every time I return to Niagara, I find myself feeling very nostalgic toward my hometown as well! Thank you for sharing and bringing me back in time :).

I'm from upstate and 5 years fulltime too. The east has so many wonderful, interesting, butiful places to visit, however, you're going to need to shell out, cause most everywhere has charges. That's why I love the west ! It's all the public lands there. Everyone can afford and enjoy the west. 🙂
@OurWayToRoam4 ай бұрын
So true! It can be more expensive to travel the Northeast that's for sure. The concentration of public lands in the Southwest is unmatched!

Did some roofs on the Budweiser in Baldwinsville many moons ago. It reminded me a lot of the U.P of Michigan where I'm from. Spent a lot of time in Syracuse at the Blue Tusk. Loved that place.🍻

You both are so lucky how beautiful your back yard looks, we have awesome places in the UK but most of it is now private property,love the content, and can’t wait for Sundays to see you both again ❤

That’s a shame. It’s such a relief to be able to get away and knowing something is hindered by private ownership must be very disappointing!

Although we are probably twice your age we definitely enjoy your videos and travel. Having grown up in the Hudson Valley I can’t agree more that NY is a beautiful state. Our kids live in Cortland county which we visit yearly. We are in northern Alabama for retirement now, and when you travel south again we have a spot for you with hook ups. Stop by and re group for as long as you need.

Hello, warm greetings from the province of Pontassieve in Florence, Italy. I am the respected owner of a Suzuki Jimmy 4x4 with a m13a 1.3 LT petrol engine, petrol, completely original, year 2001. It is indeed completely original, which I often drive on country roads and forest roads, and with the appropriate mud tyres it will also do me good. The Suzuki Jimmy 4x4, although completely original, I see it is in its natural habitat when I approach rural farm roads and forest roads that are used by logging companies to transport wood in logging trucks.

Love The Glen! Good to see the Southern Tier getting some love on The Tube! Great video! Another vote too, for the Allegheny National Forest - great country, great camping, great people! Northwestern PA has a lot to offer, so here's an open invitation to come down the lake (or actually "up" the lake) to Erie to visit Presque Isle State Park & then head east & explore the Northern Tier of Pennsylvania. US Route 6 is a great secondary road alternative to the I-86 Expressway, if you're not in a hurry....

I'm originally from CNY and my girlfriend and I are in the process of building out our 5 window Skoolie. We are finishing up the solar rack and going to use it before we go any further with the build. Would you possibly be interested in helping me figure out the final build in the future?

I had no idea that there were great free campsites in NY or any state east of the Mississippi as I stayed at one in a forest in Alabama and it was paved with flat beer cans and shotgun shells. The park you hiked in is beautiful and necessarily manmade for safety and access, I tend to prefer natural beauty and trails to manmade. Your trip to the canyonlands was more beautiful in it's natural grandeur, but for sure not as moist or green. More like Tennessee and North Carolina with falls, mountains, and green...

I hate That New York, NYC. I have not been there, but being across the river from it was close enough. I have been to Buffalo, Niagara Falls a couple times and the mountains. Beautiful state once one gets west of the City.

New York has some really great spots. I just wish we had more public land. About 90% of NYS is private, but still a lot of beautiful places.

I can relate to the wanting to escape the rural to the city. I thought I was going to be a city mouse then I saw and experienced Tokyo and other mega cities. Working to get back to the middle of nowhere.

Thank You for sharing and to be perfectly honest if it wasn’t for the ADK I would hate to live in this State we pretty much go to the ADK every weekend weekend right now we’re only weekend warriors but hopefully soon we’ll be traveling full-time. Stay safe stay healthy. Enjoy your travels.

Guys, just an FYI, there are some spots that you can go to with your rig in the ADK. We’ve been to a bunch of them where it’s all free camping.

What was the name of the state forest that you guys wild camped in? I'm thinking that it's not too far from Salamanca, NY since you got diesel at the Seneca One Stop that's located in that city.
@markrenfrow98734 ай бұрын
The Forman determined that reciept was not necessary. And how Could you leave them alone so long! On our trip to a family Reunion, in western Ohio (Cridersville) we found diesel cheaper than gas, @ 3.02.9 . Another customer told us this station was 15 miles from the refinery.
@OurWayToRoam4 ай бұрын
Wow that’s a great price! We always fill up the Jerry cans too when we find a cheap place to get diesel!
